Highlights

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 am and after being familiar to the guide, chef & other clients we will drive to Tarangire national park (2hr drive) famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees & having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive through the park depending on where they are reported sightings of animals (mostly predators, lions, cheetah & leopards as they are harder to spot) as herbivores (giraffes, wildebeest, zebras etc are plenty to see through the park. Later on, will go to the Tarangire river picnic site and enjoy the beautiful view of the river & animals while having lunch, small monkeys & baboons will try to scare you off your lunch but there is nothing to worry about After lunch will proceed with the game drive and exit the park where will head to our accommodation

Unforgettable Safari - My safari with Serengeti African Tours was truly unforgettable. Not only did I have the opportunity to witness a variety of animals in their natural habitat, but the entire experience was made exceptional by the professionalism and care of the team member Linah, in particular, stood out for her exceptional service and responsibility throughout the journey. Highly recommend Serengeti African Tours for a remarkable safari adventure!

Friendly staff and super safari - We, my wife, my sister and I, did the 5-day Serengeti budget tour. Lucas and his team are very friendly and service minded, and goes lenghtly to satisfy your needs. The safari was well planned and we did see the 5 big! Plus a lot of other animals. Our guide, Priest (I guess that was his name), was an outcome of knowledge and information. And our stomach engineer, Richard, did a fantastic job of keeping us fed at all times. All 3 of us were very satisfied and have no problems recommending Serengeti African Tours to anyone.

Experience of a Lifetime! Highly Recommend Budget Safari with Serengeti African Tours - All I hoped for and more! As a solo traveler, I joined a fabulous international group (comprised of other solo or duo travelers) that visited Tarangire National Park (Day 1), Serengeti (Days 2 and 3) and Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Days 4 and Day 5). Serengeti African Tours is a professional company and I highly recommend them. Communication with Luca (the owner) was excellent; he thoroughly explained what is involved in a 'budget' safari, answered my questions, and made sure transfers at the beginning and end of the tour were on time. Our guide & driver Assad was also excellent - extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, great troubleshooter/multitasker (he often had a 16 hour workday with us), spotted an amazing range of animals (often networking with other drivers/guides), and kept us on schedule, which was no small task given our ambitious goals of seeing as many animals as possible. His English was impeccable. The meals (prepared by Richard) were delicious and varied -- fish, chicken, meat, lamb, veggies, chapati, fruit, pizza, etc. I like sleeping in tents, so the camping aspect of the budget tour appealed to me, especially since SAT's staff pitched the tents. A few tips on what to bring (which helped me) 1. A handsfree headlamp/flashlight and extra batteries - better than using your phone flashlight or one you need to hold in your hands 2. An inexpensive rain poncho (I bought mine on Amazon for $3.50).It took up very little space and doubled as a 'tarp' I could drape over my backpack if it looked like rain while we unpacked the jeep at night 3. Dual port wall plug/USB wall charger - my phone was my only electric device. Being able to charge 2 phones out of one socket in the jeep using USB cables was convenient, especially since our group was from 3 continents that have different plugs. Also, if you want to join a group (my preference as a solo traveler) and have a custom itinerary, please know that you may need to join a different group at the beginning or end of the tour. This is true of all the safari companies and only makes sense since their goals include being efficient and offering clients many flexible tour options. Ngorongoro and Serengeti charge 'per person' entry fees, that companies obtain permits for in advance so as not to cut into your time at the parks. Therefore they try to match the number of passengers they're approved for. (This happened to me and as a result, I met 2 great groups of people.)

Great experience, overall well organized, with plenty of food and drinks. - It was a great experience, we got to see the big fives and our driver and cook were really trying to give us the best experience possible. Additionally, we got upgraded to rooms instead of tents 3 nights in a row due to the bad weather, without asking for it! Only downside: our group of 6 had different sleeping arrangements, so it always took a while to get everyone gathered which cost us a little bit of safari time. However, this is just a sidenote and no reason for a rating below 5 points :) Lucas / Serengeti African Tours reply really fast and help you to plan your trip. They also organized the transit to and from the airport as well as the first and last night in Arusha for us.

An amazing, well run experience! - Even for a "budget" tour, everything was well organized and high value. The tents were already set up at each camp site with comfortable sleeping pads and tasty, fresh, and homemade food was served for every meal. You will see even more animals than what you hope for and be struck by the natural beauty on this unforgettable experience!
