A great tour and a perfect introduction to Peru, on many levels. - This was our first tour on a two-week trip, and not only was it a perfect introduction to Peru but one of the top tours the entire vacation. The tour took place in a local market, with a wide variety of foods interspersed with historical and cultural information. On the history-background side, for the next two weeks, when our guides spoke we found we either already knew the information or - even better - had a deeper understanding from what we learned on this tour. On the food side -- wow! More things we had never tried than we thought we could find in one market, and "tasty" is a great name for the company. Ultimately, we had to give up we were so full (and fully satisfied). And we came to understand that Lima has become a food capital of the world not because of the celebrity chefs alone, but because of the great culinary tradition they are working with. We highly recommend this tour (with a shout-out to Sheyla our wonderful guide through this world of food).

Yes! Book at once - After this tour we wanted to cancel the rest of our Peru trip to stay near the places we visited during this tour and try again. You can hardly decide, what you liked best from the bright variety of different flavours and different fruits and dishes. Strolling through the different foodspots is a real highlight! What we liked most was Arturos background infos about the food and its history and Arturo's charming way and network everywhere we drifted by.

"Juicy Lucy" - The Lima For Foodies tour was a great kick-off to our Peruvian adventure. We had the amazing pleasure of hanging out with Arturo who was not only personable but funny and EXTREMELY knowledgeable about Peru's history. His passion for the story behind the cultural scene made the tasting experience even more meaningful. We tried a variety of fruits/veggies, a total of four traditional dishes, and learned A LOT about staple food items in Peru. I loved that we stepped out of the tourist section and actually walked the streets of Barranco as real members of the community. Arturo was so attentive and went out of his way to ensure we had a great time and felt comfortable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who'd like to have an authentic tasting experience.

Highly recommend—an experience I couldn’t have on my own - The market tour with Arturo was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it for people looking to see a different side of Lima! It felt like I was spending the day with a friend who was showing me their hometown. Arturo is extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes, ingredients, and the history behind them. He also answered all my additional questions and made sure to find things I hadn’t yet tried during my travels in Peru— including a mango I will dream about forever! It was a day I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to have on my own and absolutely worth the price. We tried 20+ different dishes, sweets, snacks, drinks and fruits. It was all presented professionally with context about Peru and its culinary culture. The raw items were sanitized before we tried them and he even brought extra napkins. The whole team is quick to respond on WhatsApp and goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time in Lima. At the end of the tour, Arturo even put me on the bus back to my hotel and gave me last-minute airport food recommendations. Thank you for making my last morning in Peru so memorable!

A great food adventure - Our food tour in Lima, Peru was a sensory experience, highly recommended for those seeking cultural immersion and unique culinary delights. Our guide, Arturo, shared his deep knowledge of Lima's culinary scene and traditions with infectious enthusiasm, making the tour engaging and enjoyable. The visit to the market was an absolute highlight, so many new tastes and smells. Next, we tried Ceviche at a street stall. The combination of fresh fish cured in citrus juices, spiced with aji or chili peppers, was absolutely delicious. It was a delightful. We then ventured to the old town, the heart of Lima, to try the famous Pisco Sour. Finally, we then had lunch in a local Canteen. Arturo's company, insights, and passion for food truly enhanced the experience. This food tour was not just about tasting food, but about understanding and appreciating the rich tapestry of Peruvian culture, history, and cuisine.

Excellent introduction to the local cuisine for a first-time visitor - I'm not usually one to book a guided tour (I prefer to explore on my own when able), but on the insistence of a friend I booked a private tour with Lima Tasty Tours. (The upgrade to a private tour was very affordable for two people, and included pickup and dropoff at our hotel). The tour was absolutely worth it! Our tour guide Sheyla was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to explore with! She showed us markets I would have never found on my own, and gave us a proper introduction to the local cuisine. She even gave us a bunch of advice on exploring Peru and recommendations on what is worth checking out! If you are new to Lima, this is well worth the time!

Best Food Tour we've ever done! - The best food tour we have ever done! Everything we tasted was delicious, authentic and made by the friendliest market vendors ever! Arturo and Allesandra our guides were amazing, so passionate and fun it felt like hanging out with some old friends! They had a lot of knowledge about Peruvian food and had us interacting with the locals in the market making us feel so welcomed. Don't hesitate to book this incredible experience!

Mandatory experience for food lovers - We went on a honeymoon to Peru and on our stop in Lima, our agency organized a day for us with Tasty Tours and we LOVED it. Arturo was our guide, a charming boy, who knows a lot and with whom we were very comfortable. The first stop was the "Jorge Chavez" market where he taught us all the local cuisine. Afterwards we went to a restaurant in Chorrillos overlooking the Pacific where they taught us how to make causa limeña, ceviche and pisco sour. A must-see experience for food lovers!
