Great day of wine tasting and scenic drives - We had a really great day out exploring cafayate vineyards with our guide Rodrigo. The tour was really well organised and completely tailored based on our preferences discussed with Nick beforehand. Rodrigo was a very knowledgable guide for the day and showed us all the good spots. Overall a great experience.

Tailored tour to learn about Torrontés in the Cafayate region, with a knowledgable guide, and stunning vistas on route! - I booked a solo/private daytrip from Salta to Cafayate (and return) with Poncho Tours in December 2019. Mariano was my guide for the day and provided the tour in English. Mariano’s appreciation of wine culture made for great conversation, and provided very good insight into the region we visited. My interest was mostly in Torrontés, and Poncho Tours was flexible in recommending good options given we only had one-day. I got to visit 3 different vineyards for tastings, a mix of a bigger/more commercial one, to a smaller family run! A really good blend! Our first stop was Bodega El Esteco, with a bigger operation. The second stop was Bodega Burbujas de Altura, a smaller family run vineyards, where the owner himself spent almost 2 hours providing me insight into his production and did the tasting with me. This stop was definitively a highlight with more intimate visit, and their sparkling wine made from Torrontés grapes in the traditional method is a must try! The final stop was Bodega El Porvenir de Cafayate, where I got to try many different Torrontés: from the traditional one, to one fermented in oak barrels, to a sweeter version. Finally, the drive to/from Cafayate through the Quebrada de las Conchas was breathtaking, with stunning colourful vistas at every turn. We were able to stop at various points on route, to take in the view and for pictures. It makes for a very enjoyable drive! I would most definitively recommend booking with Poncho Tours for a tour tailored to your interest, with a knowledgable guide.

Perfect Day of Scenery, Wine & Food - We had an amazing trip with Nick from Salta, down to Cafayate. We visited great wineries both large and small, new and old with fantastic wines and had a great leisurely lunch. Nick also took time along the drive to stop at various landmarks and notable views, which turned what was a long drive into part of the experience. I wouldn't hesitate to book another trip with them again on our next trip!
