Highlights
  • National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) - The main Exhibition Hall showcases the four fundamental crafts that have been pivotal in the development of Egyptian civilization: pottery, woodwork, textiles, and jewelry. On display is the world’s oldest known prosthetic toe, a human skeleton dating back 30,000 years, the Kaaba Cover (kiswaa Al kaaba) which was the final one produced in Egypt under President Naser, and the Mahmal, historically used to transport the cover to Saudi Arabia annually in a grand procession. The NMEC is renowned for being the first museum globally to present an extensive overview of Egyptian Civilization, tracing its evolution from prehistoric times to contemporary history. The museum displays a multitude of artifacts that narrate the story of Egypt, beginning with the pre-dynastic and Ancient Egyptian era, through the Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and into the modern period.
  • Coptic Cairo - The Coptic Quarter is a significant historical area in Egypt, home to the country’s oldest and most celebrated churches. Among these is the Hanging Church, dating back to the third century, which derives its name from its elevated position above the gatehouse of the Babylon fortress, a Roman stronghold. Another notable site is the Cavern Church, also known as the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus or Abu Serga, erected above a cave that provided refuge to Joseph, the Virgin Mary, and the infant Jesus for three months, making it one of Egypt’s most ancient Coptic churches.
  • Nile River Valley - Experience the quintessential Egyptian Felucca, a traditional sailing boat, and indulge in a serene Felucca journey along the Nile River. This excursion offers a chance to witness Cairo’s vibrant nightlife or bask in the daytime sunshine. Upon completion of the ride, our representative will escort you back to your hotel.
