Fun experience with unique photo ops - We had a great time at Totumos! As long as you understand the nature of the activity, you won't be disappointed! It's a small mud pit, and you'll share the space with about 20 people. You stay in as long as you want - 15 minutes was great for us. We didn't want the massage - just felt awkward squeezed in with do many. But we did pay a few bucks per person for taki g our photos, carrying our shoes and towels to the river, and for ladies to help us clear all the mud off in the river. We enjoyed the fish lunch and pool/beach at the hotel we went to after. Nice way to unwind. Really unique experience and fun photo ops!

Do not miss this tour in Cartagena! - Super fun trip, where do I begin. First off, the tour started on time, not like others that make you wait 30-60 mins. Also, the drive is in a nice bus which was very comfortable and not terribly long. Our guide gave us great advice and was super professional (thanks David!) and the mud bath was super cool. We had minimal expectations for the beach club and lunch but the lunch was very yummy (chicken was our choice) and the pool and bar at the beach club was super cute and clean and well attended. It was a great way to spend a day in Cartagena and I’d recommend this tour company and guide completely

Awesome Time - Loved the experience.. Tour was awesome and lunch wasn’t bad! Our guide was fluent in Spanish and English so we had no communication barriers. Would definitely do this again .

Never to old to play in the mud - Book it! We met at a central location. Eliana was our guide and she took good care of us. We took an air conditioned bus to the mud volcano and then to a resort to enjoy lunch. The resort was meh but good for the price. The experience was great just be ware that everything costs. The massages in the volcano, the ladies waiting at the pond to help you clean, the photographer, etc. Tip 10,000 cop individually which is equivalent to $4usd

A Wild Experience! - What a wild experience! I will admit that this excursion may not be for everyone but if you’re up for a bit of an adventure and some up close and personal time in a giant mud pit then this is for you. I loved it. The tour guide Angel was great! He explained in detail what would happen once we reached the volcano, organized things in such a way that made the group feel secure about belongings, and was happy to provide any translation services. He also went out of his way to answer any questions I had about other things. All around just a great guy! The pit itself is controlled chaos. The walks up and down are a bit more treacherous than appear in photos. I partook in the massage while in the pit and warning: they get up close and personal if you know what I mean. Not for those wary of personal space. Ladies then offer to wash you from head to toe in the river, again, might not be for those that are shy. They had me take off my suit and sit naked in the river. I didn’t care but not for everyone. I suffer from eczema and had a sunburn. Skin felt great after all of this. I even purchased some of the mud to bring back home. Recommendations: 1. Bring small bills ($5000 pesos) for tips per person. 2. Make sure you keep track of who did what service for you. You will need to pay each individual personally at the end of the tour and they will hunt you down. Angel was great about translating any discrepancies/issues. 3. Things will need to pay for: holding your shoes, holding your towel, camera/photos, massage, river washing. You can pick and choose which services to use. About $7 USD in total for all services. Completely worth it in my opinion. The beach club stop after is like a different world from the volcano. Great lunch, they provide welcome non-alcoholic drinks, and then you can relax on the beach or at their private pool. Service is friendly and top notch. Great tour!

The best!!! - David was awesome and very informative! He warned us about the four services that they would try charging us for its 5,000 each- for massages in the volcano, taking your shoes and clothes for you (I told them no and he still took our belongings and charged us so I would recommend to take nothing up there or alternate with a friend) they will also try to rise you off. The food was delicious the hotel was relaxing!

Unique Experience - Its in the middle of nowhere. once you get there, you have people trying to sell you things like food, showers etc. You have to pay at the entrance and someone will walk you to the area up some stairs. I think it was 12-18$. They will hold your phone and other belongings. They will take pictures before and after for some $tips. Its a small area full of mud. you don't sink, so you kind of float. hard to move around. Crowed. Stinks. You can get a massage for extra $. once you get out, the guide leads you to the lake to wash off. Locals are there waiting, trying to help clean you up for some extra $ or you can do it yourself. The whole thing was about 15-20 minutes. Okay experience, i guess. Since they claim the mud is good for your skin.

A mediocre experience - The tour guide was really nice and helpful. However, there were hidden costs during the visit at the volcano. The native people there want money from you so that they'll keep your belongings, take pictures of you etc.. The total experience at the volcane didn't last really long. After that, they took at a beach bar which was cute pleasant but nothing really extraordinary.

Stinky mud - The experience was not like the description. It was kind of nasty. The mud had a stinky smell to it. I have done similar volcano mud experience other countries and it was nothing like this. The steps going up and down were dangerous. The ppl were so aggressive. Even when you say no they do it anyway just to get tips. They take force you to take all your clothes off to rince the mud off. Some ppl are not comfortable being like that. One lady snatched my friend shirt off after being told no and lost it in the water, then demanded a tip. Rhe second stop to the beach club was nice. And the food was good. Our tour guide Victor was amazing. He was super nice and helpful. All the things I complained about had nothing to do with Victor, he tried his best to make the day and experience go well.
