A nice Sunday morning outing! - I had not been here since high school, so it was great going with my granddaughters this time around. This was their first time here.

Yes, By all means - Do It - On a short Mother- Daughter (Young Adult) trip to Chicago for Memorial Day week-end – a city we had never visited, included a must see visit to the Willis Sky Deck. It was just before it began to rain heavily that Sunday – however we arrived early and there we no lines, so we were able to leisurely view the exhibits – which were interesting, informative, engaging and interactive ( I loved the simulated subway (the L)) - good for a lot of picture taking and the guides and assistants are generous to take pictures and give information - we were early so visiting moved well but it started to pick up with more people- we finally get to the deck and the views are breathtaking = and then on to the Overview Deck which is very organized - the assistant places you in a Kiosk where s/he takes a professional picture and the leaves you for a timed 90 seconds to take your personal pictures- the entire visit takes about one and one-half hours to two hours – the gift shops are nice and this tower was one of the highlights of the Chicago trip – not to be missed and I highly recommend.

Mixed Impressions at Skydeck Chicago - I recently visited Skydeck Chicago for the third time in the past decade. While the attraction itself remains impressive, my recent visit left me with mixed feelings. Positives: Entrance Experience: The new entrance from the -2 floor was a pleasant surprise. It added freshness to the overall journey. Engaging Exhibits: The exhibits along the way, from the ticket counter to the elevator, reintroduced me to Chicago’s rich history and neighborhoods. Areas for Improvement: The Ledge Staff: Unfortunately, the staff at The Ledge (glass-floor observation box) fell short. Their rudeness and lack of assistance impacted my experience. Limited Photo Opportunities: The 90-second time limit for photos was frustrating, especially when the modeled pictures displayed on screens set high expectations. Actual patrons don’t get the chance for those iconic clicks due to the time constraint. Rejoining the line for another 90-minute slot isn’t always feasible. In summary, while Skydeck Chicago offers breathtaking views, addressing staff behavior and enhancing photo opportunities would significantly improve the overall experience.

Long lines, not worth the wait and $$ - We purchased tickets at the kiosk for an 8:30 appointment for the sky deck. It was my misunderstanding that there was not a bar up there, so that is on me. However, we waited in lines like Disney World until after 9:30 as they routed us back and forth through the “museum” of sorts they called it. I think perhaps we should have gotten expedited tickets to avoid some of this, but it cost $144 for 3 of us to go to the sky deck. After spending over an hour in line, we reached the top where they said it would be another 45 minutes to actually get out on the sky deck. We had been in line so long and were so over it by then, we just looked out the windows and looked at the view of the city which was pretty but definitely not worth the cost to just see it out the windows with what seemed like a hundred other people vying for a spot to see out the window. It was absolutely horrible. We did not wait. If the view wasn’t somewhat pretty, I would have given this one star. Save your money. Take a architectural boat ride instead and get a great view of the city from the water.

Very disappointed - Skydeck did not have our tickets and you provided no bar code. They eventually found the tickets but very frustrating experience. Will not use Viator again. Will book directly with website.
