Additional Information

Situated in the heart of The Rocks, Sydney, beneath the famous Harbour Bridge, our distillery tour and tasting claims a truly extraordinary setting. Our distillery boasts easy accessibility via ferry, bus, train, and tram, with plenty of surrounding attractions in The Rocks to keep you entertained either side of the tour.

The distillery resides within an historic bond store that once stored international goods shipped to Australia. One of Australia’s largest and oldest gantry cranes stands within our building, and the steel structures holding up the complex originate from the same batch used to construct the nearby Harbour Bridge.

The curated tour guides you from the inception of whisky - starting with the grain, all the way to the barrelling process. Our on-site gin still is responsible for creating all of our acclaimed gin.

Hickson House also accommodates a full bar and dining room for those looking forward to a meal or a drink either before or after the distillery experience.

Great tasting Gin - We did the afternoon distillery tour, were greeted by our host Chessie who is one of the distillers with a welcome gin & tonic to enjoy while on the tour. Chessie was friendly & very informative about the history of gin making along with the process how they make their gin and what different botanical ingredients they use. After the tour we sampled 4 of the gins they currently make. I loved the Australian Dry gin made with a mix of native Australian botanicals so bought a bottle to take home. The bar area & dinning room is stunning, will have to come back & do the tour again & have lunch.

Great experience. - My daughter bought this for me as a Christmas present..well worth whatever she paid for, for this gin lover! Given a lovely refreshing tall glass of gin and tonic on arrival. The young lady who gave us the tour( forgotten her unusual name!) was thorough in her explanation of gin making. We were given 4 different gins to try - wouldn’t be driving after though! Just over an hour, but we could stay there for as long as we wanted without any pressure of us drinking up and going. There was a menu there as well if we wanted something to eat, and plenty of other spirits to chose from as well. Recommend this to anyone who likes gin, or, even if you don’t, sit back, chill out with your drink, solo or with a group of friends.

Gin Distillery Tour a must at Hicksons The Rocks Sydney. Enjoyed by my bestie and myself. - We were first timers to tour a Gin Distillery. Welcomed at the door by staff. Greeted our tour guide who then prepared a welcoming Gin And Tonic. A tour in the Distillery area. Very informative. Given tasting samples of 4 of their Gins made on the premises. Provided a mixer drink for us as straight was a bit strong for us. Give jars to smell of their ingredients . All natural. Wish we had known they had a restaurant prior to going. A meal there would of finished off a informative tour. Prices to purchase very reasonable. Along with the Gin also gin infused olives and Gin infused pickled onions. All in all a lively afternoon.

Lovely experience and a pleasant way to spend the day. - I did not realise that there is a distillery right in the city! This at the Rocks! My friend and I were greeted with a complimentary gin and tonic which was rather refreshing. The tour was rather short but enjoyable. We then had a tasting of four different types of gin using recipes of local botanicals. Well explained and we had a great time tasting.
