Relaxing, informative and entertaining. The whole package. - OMG! I would encourage anyone visiting the Albany area to join a tour on the Kalgan Queen. But Captain Jack is taking a well deserved break during winter! So look for tours starting again in September! He is an extraordinary host full of endless knowledge of local bird life, wonderful historical stories, humour and poetry. And the damper - yum!! Not to be missed. You might even get a close encounter with Perch!!

Kalgan Queen tour. - What a great experience. Capt Jack was a great host. The trip was educational, entertaining and relaxing. We had tea/coffee, damper and got to sample the local produce of strawberries and honey. 4 hrs went so quickly. The wildlife was amazing, seeing the eagles and osprey feed was breathtaking. The water was calm, I am prone to seasickness but never felt queasy once. Highly recommend this tour!

Fun and relaxed tour for all ages, enjoying the water and wildlife off Albany - Great morning enjoying the water and wildlife. Enjoy it tremendously and Captain Jack and the Kalgan Queen was a great way to spend my Mothers Day as we are travelling and not with our family at the moment. Highly recommend it as a relaxed and fun tour. Thanks 😊

A fantastic cruise! - Perch the Pelican welcomed us on the jetty and she loved the attention, photos and her fish rewards. The birdlife was fantastic! Loved the race between the Pelicans and Sea Eagles to see who got to the fish first. Result was 50/50. Captain Jack was knowledgeable on the history of the Albany region the birdlife and the Kalgan River. He threw in some light and humorous anecdotes as well as reciting some of his own poems! We devoured the yummy damper Jack's mum made (thanks Jack's mum!). Met some lovely people. All in all a great day!

Highly Recommended! - A bit late with my review! We did this cruise twice in September 2023. Was hopeful, without any particular expectation, bird photography wise, but was blown away by the opportunities that presented themselves on each of the cruises that we went on. Apart from the birds, the whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable. The captain, 'Captain Jack', maintained commentary and conversation throughout and was both knowledgeable and entertaining. The refreshments that were included, tea or coffee and homemade damper, together with local strawberries and honey, were very welcome. Again, I would highly recommend!
