Issyk is a stunning blue lake located just 1.5 hours’ drive from Almaty. Encircled by breathtaking mountain scenery, it’s an ideal destination for a day trip.

Additionally, you can visit a site of great historical and archaeological significance for Kazakhstan—the Golden Man Issyk museum. This archaeological complex is renowned for the discovery of the Golden Man, a Scythian warrior clad in elaborate gold armor dating back to the 6th-5th century BC.
On the way, there’s a charming trout farm cafe where we can stop for an outdoor lunch.
