Day 1 : Hanoi – Sapa - Cat Cat village by transfer (Lunch, Dinner)
Cat Cat village - Head to Sapa on a two-day guided trip from Hanoi. Enjoy an overnight stay in the mountains of northern Vietnam, trek to ethnic minority villages, experience local culture, and try local cuisine.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi to Sapa and Short Trek
(Lunch, Dinner)
Meet the tour guide for the bus to Lao Cai and Sapa (duration roughly 5 hours). Check-in at your hotel, then take a walk around Sapa, visiting the market and old cathedral, and meet Black H’mong and Red Zao ethnic minorities selling handicrafts.
Enjoy a Vietnamese lunch and then trek through Cat Cat village, stopping at local homes and experiencing the hospitality. (Trekking distance approximately 2.5 km; duration about 2 hours)
Return to the hotel for dinner at 5:00 PM and overnight in Hotel in Sapa.
Note: You will visit Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van Village if you choose the option of homestay or bungalow.
Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Back to Hanoi by transfer (Breakfast, Lunch)
Y Linh Ho - 7:00am: Have breakfast at hotel.
9:00am: Start the tour from hotel : Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van
Ta Van village is hidden in the foggy cloud, far away from Sapa busy streets. All its natural beauty are well reserved by over 110 households living in this village. Though you can definitely to get there and back in a day, many choose to stay overnight at the homestay in Ta Van village to fully experience a day with the minorities groups culture other than H’mong, one of the most popular minorities group in Sapa region.
Then have lunch at around 12:30
3:00pm - 4:00 pm: Leaving Sapa by bus. Arrive back in Hanoi at about 9PM - 10PM
Lao Chai - Visiting ethnic local villages
Ta Van - Enjoy the most picturesque scenery of terraced rice fields.
Note: You will visit Giang Ta Chai Village instead of Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van Village if you choose the option of homestay or bungalow
*Kindly note that there will be local ethnic people try to accompany you the whole trekking way in order to ask you for money or sell local items with high price. Please ignore them and stick to the guide. This has been a pressing matter in Sapa, yet haven’t been solved by the authority. We’re truly sorry for this inconvenience in advance!

- Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March
- Due to altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March.
- Boots, Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
- You should take medicine with you although there are some pharmacies in Sapa in case you get sick.
- Pick-up and drop-off at your hotels in Old Quarter only
- There are a lot of street vendors who might keep following you to sell stuff in Sapa. Please learn how to refuse them.
- Not recommended for travelers more than 190 centimeters tall.
