Majority of those who venture into the High Atlas (Trekking in the Atlas Mountains) aim for Djebel Toubkal (Mountain Climb of Toubkal, 4167m/13,670ft), the apex of North Africa, set in the vibrant landscapes of Morocco. As a popular tourist attraction in Morocco, it is reported that 90% of trekkers choose the Toubkal Region during peak season. Accessible from Marrakech, the top of Mount Toubkal can be reached in just a few days (Two days on Mount Toubkal), though it’s recommended to spend additional time for acclimatization. The area, while sparse, offers unparalleled beauty. The panoramic view over the entire length of Morocco, from the shimmering Atlantic coast to the north and west, and the vast, hot Sahara to the south and east, is absolutely breathtaking from the summit of Mount Toubkal.
