A definite must do if in Joburg! - What an amazing experience in Joburg. Highly recommend this tour if in town of a highly misunderstood area. A definite eye opener on the history of this building and area. Cynthia our guide was incredible, and all proceeds go towards funding the community school run within the tower.

Incredible Ponte Tower Tour! - We booked onto the 1 hour ponte towers tour and it was fantastic. So informative, wonderful tour guide, and a great way to learn more about the surrounding areas and the long lasting impacts of apartheid policy. DlalaNje are on an amazing mission to keep the local kids off the streets and give them access to vital education. A must do when visiting Jo’Burg.

The tour was great, we... - The tour was great, we went up to the 51st tour where we were given an aerial tour of Joburg. The guide told us the history of the building with some personalised stories before we went to the basement level for some great picture opportunities. There is also a walking tour available after, around the local suburb that I wasn’t aware of that may be of interest.

Unforgettable experience in the most prominent Johannesburg building - Amazing experience in the most prominent Johannesburg building. You get to see the famous tower from inside, enjoy the top view and find out about the history of the former richest area, later a vertical slum, and how it was recovered. The money you pay are used to fund a daycare centre for the kids and you can even book a place a view for your event.

Wonderful Tour, View & History Insights - Don't Miss! - We visited Dlala Nje for the Ponte Experience tour and cannot recommend it highly enough! Our guide toured us through the tower and gave us a fascinating synopsis of the local neighborhood's history from what has to be the vest viewpoint in Johannesburg. Additionally, Ponte city is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of architecture, and has a backstory as complex as the city itself. Dlala Nje provided thorough information on how to arrive and depart the tower, and with our friendly guide we felt completely secure and comfortable during the whole visit. They have clearly gone to great lengths to make the building a safe place for the many children they look after. We were only passing through Johannesburg for 24 hours, so the Ponte Experience was the only major sightseeing we had time for - and Dlala Nje did not disappoint!

A superb and essential experience. - This tour was amazing. Our guide, Cynthia was extremely knowledgable and took the time to explain the history of the building, the local area around it and the current status of it today. There was also plenty of time to get some excellent photos. This is a non profit organisation and the money from the tours goes to fjr community centre in the building which is designed to keep kids off the streets and out of trouble. So it’s a great cause. Cynthia also took the time to make sure me and the other guy on the tour left the building safely which was very much appreciated. They really do care about their clients. Excellent. Cheers, Cynthia and team!

Listen to peoples stories - How do you get to know city you just moved to? By listening to the peoples stories. This young fellow of Dlala Nje who guidede me today (sry, bra, how could I possibly forget your name - shame on me!), lives in Ponte City. Watching him how he cared about a fellow voluntary worker who was uspset or interact with the children for wohm Dlala Nje provides a space where they can be themselves. That´s what Ponte City is about. Built for the white middle- and upper class in the seventies it is more than a fancy way of residency attracting skilled labour from abroad to settle in the neighbourhoods of Hillbrow, Berea and Jeauval. The grass-root comunity work Dlala Nje is the glue which holds people together. Anywhere in the world, but specifically in Ponte City. It was refreshing, very informative to wonder around this "bridge (ponte) between earth and heaven". Of course, the views from 53nd floor can not be found anywhere else. Still, it is about the people. Go there, book the tour, listen carefully. The history of this building tells more about SA society one would expect. Thanks to the unknown guide!

If you're doing work for the community, then don't act like mafia - We visited "their" building over a year ago, where we chose to go with a local who lives there, instead with their guided tour. They refused to allow us to enter the building, and their office mafia sent some big guy to threaten us. Really?? This is how you deal with a problem?? I left a negative Google review for them in the past, and a year later, I received their pathethic and offensive response, victimizing themselves and mentioning selfishness and entitlement from my side. It couldn't be more ironic, from a company that claims to be community oriented, but uses a thug as a solution for disagreement. I am sorry, but you don't own the building and people who live inside. The tour of the building is optional, and accept that not everyone needs to agree with your arrogant attitude of a community savior.
