Also to be spotted are ample herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and impala, as well as giraffes and warthog. Amboseli National Park (day trip) - An outstanding tour, despite getting up early and the long drive. It was definitely worth it. My driver "BlackSanta" was super friendly and competent. He knew a lot about every place and animal and seemed to be well connected. We saw zebras, giraffes, elephants, hippos, wildebeests, antelopes, hyenas, bulls, ostriches and possibly a lion (sleeping and from very far away), as well as various birds and flamingos.

Up close with elephants & so much more! - Fantastic day with an amazing guide, Samuel, who made every effort to ensure we packed in as much as possible. No big cats seen, but we saw elephants, hippos, giraffes, zebras, water buffalo, warthogs, impalas, gazelles, flamingos and so many other species of birds. The elephants were certainly the highlight - an experience we’ll never forget!

A Wonderful Day! - We had a great safari trip with Samuel! The view of Mount Kilimanjaro on the ride to Amboseli was amazing. We also captured some awesome pictures of various animals while in the park. Samuel was so patient with us and answered all our questions. A big bonus was having wifi in the van as we traveled. This enabled us to share our experience with other family members at the end of the day. Needless to say, we had a full day enjoying all that Perfect Safaris had to offer!

Amboseli day trip - This was a wonderful trip and experience. We were fortunate enough to arrive when Mount Kilimanjaro was clear and very snow capped. Seeing the Elephants and many other wild animals with the Mountain in the backdrop was extra special. So many Elephants. We want to do it again and bring our kids/grandkids and stay overnight within the park.

Best Daytrip. Best Driver Guide. Best Lunch - This day trip was amazing. Jerry with Perfect Safari was the best driver and super knowledgeable guide. The van was comfortable with the poptop. Definitely have a poptop either 4WD Safari or Van. We saw every animal we expected, ate a glorious lunch at Ol Tukai lodge. I wish we could have stayed the night. The road from Nairobi to the park is not for the faint of heart - you need a driver like Jerry to ensure you make it! The only downside was the Massai Souvenir sellers at the gate. Literally pushing items in my face insisting on money. I would have bought something if they had stayed out of my personal space.

Best Daytrip Safari. Best driver guide! - What an epic and perfect day. Jerry was the best you could ask for. Part expert NASCAR driver. Part tour guide so knowledgeable about Amboseli and part comedian making the day fun. Dozens of elephants, hundreds of zebras, gazelles, beautiful birds and at the very end HIPPOS!!! Lunch at Ol Tukai lodge was the best we’ve had on our trip. I wish we’d thought about staying the night. Driving the road from Nairobi to Mombasa is not for the faint of heart so you better have an expert driver like Jerry. Bring some snacks, the best camera you can, and your energy. Fantastic day!

Never again... - This tour started off good but quickly deteriorated throughout the day. We got picked up promptly at 5 am and started our journey from Nairobi to Amboseli. Our guide, James/Jim, was very friendly and allowed us to enjoy the landscape as we drove in. We made a rest stop that we thought was specifically for the bathroom but we had to walk through a market place to get to the bathrooms. Of course, we were followed throughout the store and asked by several people to purchase souvenirs. It was unexpected and caused us to reach the park after 10 am when it already started to heat up. Then we literally drove around until 2 pm barely seeing any animals because of the heat. Our driver was on the phone the entire time he was driving us around in circles and my husband and I were left to our own to try and see if there were any animals to spot. Our driver was not really knowledgeable about where the best places were to look for animals so we spent the most part of 5 hours roasting inside the un air-conditioned car to see only a handful of animals. We finally had lunch at 2 pm after having no breakfast and were left on our own until 3:30 pm when we had to track down our driver because he did not let us know where he was going while we ate. Instead of calling it a day and starting to make the long trip back to Nairobi, he decided to keep us there until the park was about to close before we started to head back. Along the way, he stopped several times on the side of the road where local children were begging and we didn't have anything on hand to give them. I can't imagine why he would stop unexpectedly and we were not prepared for the amount of people who would solicit us to purchase their goods. Then he made his own personal stop because he said that his wife wanted onions and he wanted to buy them there because they were cheap. So, we sat in the car while he went to do his own shopping, and were just ready to get back already. Over the next four hours, we got caught in a torrential rain storm and our driver was driving very erratically throughout traffic. At times, he was driving off-road, with us tilted to the side and balancing on only the both left side tires, speeding down the highway. It was extremely scary with the rain and the roof of the vehicle started leaking so we literally had to sit in the middle of the van to avoid getting ourselves and our belongings wet even with all the windows closed. We did not get back to our hotel until 10 pm and we never stopped for a bathroom break or ate anything beyond lunch in a 17-hour day. This by far was the worst experience of our entire trip and I would not recommend it at all. I would advise just scheduling to stay a couple of days in Amboseli rather than do this day trip tour. Lesson learned.
