Machame Gate (1490 m) – Machame Camp (2980 m)
Mount Kilimanjaro - Whiskey Route this is a scenically beautiful trail, longer and much gentler than Umbwe or Marangu. Despite being a tough climb compared to the Marangu route, the Machame route has one of the highest summit success rates given the topography of the route which allows climbers to “trek high & sleep low” hence making it a more favourable route for acclimatization. This hike takes 7 Days although an extra day at Shira or Karanga valley is recommended for better acclimation. This route is a much quieter route as opposed to Marangu and involves a rather gradual ascent unlike that on Umbwe Route. The walking is rather tiring. However, our itinerary is designed to provide valuable acclimatization by having shorter walking days during the trek.

Additional Information
During this section of the hike, you should expect rain, mud, and fog. Also, be on the look out for wildlife, including Colobus monkeys! About halfway up the trail you will have a lunch break and you will reach the Machame Camp (2980) in the late afternoon or early evening. The porters and chef, who move very fast up the mountain, will reach camp before you and set up your tents, boil drinking water, and prepare snacks for your arrival. After washing up, a hot dinner will be served.

Great trip - difficult but very rewarding! - I went by myself and was in a group of 9 people. Everyone in my group was great and we had a good time together. Tiffany and Sia had everything planned and from arrival until departure I had no worries. The climb was a lot tougher than I expected or I wasn’t in as great of shape as I thought I was but the guides, porter, and cooks made all the non-hiking stuff comforting. Hermint was our main guide and he was exceptional! His entire team made sure everything was ready for us and they kept our spirits high. The Summit Lodge staff was great and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this tour company.

Excellent Kilimanjaro climbing! - Seko safaris helped me with arranging the climb of mount Kilimanjaro through the Machame route. From the beginning until the end we were guided by professionals, guaranteeing a satisfactory and safe climb. We had daily health checks and the guides made sure that we drank 3 Liters of water every day and that we took our required medicines. The food and facilities during the climb were excellent. The guides takes additional oxygen with them to the top in case of emergency.
Seko sasfaris also helped me with arranging safari in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The guide was very friendly and could spot a lot of animals. Amazing! Seko safaris helped me arrange good quality accommodation during the safari.
The speed of communication with Seko safaris, professional, personal and adequate service at reasonable price sets Seko safaris apart from other travel organizations. Highly recommended!

It was a totally astounding encounter. - I utilized Seko Safaris Agency to design an excursion with my school companions from the US. We visited Climb Kilimanjaro We additionally had the chance to investigate nearby dishes and music while at our lodge. Since I am initially from Tanzania, I have been to Safari trips previously, however our local area expert, knew incredibly itemized data about the creatures and the spots we were visiting. I felt that our guide was truly true and learned about creatures and simply broad life in Tanzania. Simple Travel and Tours Ltd/Day Tours - This excursion was astounding! Our local escort's name was Victor. He was incredibly all around educated and offered us data on the natural life of Africa just as his own books for evening perusing to expand our insight. His English abilities were better compared to our own. He gave us tips on where to shop, the amount to pay, and when to trade. His insight into his way of life and nation were remarkable. He made our outing incredibly vital. I would enthusiastically suggest this companye. We felt very knowledgeable and dealt with.
