After the lunch break we will walk along the edge of the Barbagallo crater admiring the summit craters and the entire eastern coast of Sicily, from Taormina to Syracuse.
- Mount Etna - After the walk on the edge of the Barbagallo crater, before starting the descent, we would have the opportunity once again to admire the summit craters of Etna, Central Crater and South-East Crater, with their inevitable plume of gas.

An experience you won’t forget: we’ll start with a cable car ride to 2,500m, followed by a Jeep ride to 2,750m. Here, we initiate our hike, taking in the striking displays of extinct crater cones, emission vents, and cracks in the lava. Our journey continues to the Barbagallo craters at a height of 3000 meters. This vantage point allows for a breathtaking view of the grand Summit Craters and the opportunity to appreciate both new (21-05-2023) and old lava streams, before we explore a lava flow channel. Our tour also includes a stop at an effusive vent from the 2002 eruption, before we descend the sands to the Montagnola for an awe-inspiring outlook of the Valle del Bove, a broad, horseshoe-shaped volcanic depression. The panorama is so immense, it gives visitors a sense of mysterious might held by few other places globally. Concluding with a cable car ride, you’ll have one last glimpse of the mesmerising moon-like landscape, making for a 4-hour walk in total.
