Beautiful Views but go with less people around you! - We were very lucky to be the first of the year in March to see these. Loads of time was given to take photos and see them develop into really spectacular colours. Unfortunately the coach is really packed and some annoying American woman kept complaining about the seatbelt laws in Europe as the coach driver told her to put one on, completely ruined the journey on the way out.

Amazing ‼️ - The tour guide was amazing and made sure we were able to see the Northen lights. He even had instructions to help bring out the lights in our camera.

Great Icelandic experience. - Very beautiful spectacle upon arrival on the site. Dark starry night and northern lights for almost two hours, non-stop. Fantastic because in the right place at the right time.

unbelievable night of lights! - We were very fortunate to have wonderful conditions to see the northern lights. Romeo, the tour guide, gave everyone a tutorial for the camera settings on our phones to improve our pictures. This was very much appreciated! He also asked the bus driver to the bring us near the blue lagoon to see the volcano actively erupting!

Great time, great fun, great experience! - Picked us up from our hotel right on time and made the experience as enjoyable as possible. Thank you to our tour guide Romeo for guiding us and helping us setup our cameras to capture the experience. Total trip time was about 3.5 hours.

We went to go see the... - We went to go see the lights on April 12th, 2024. We were aware that we were visiting towards the end of the northern lights season. Sadly, we did not see the northern lights on the first night. Too cloudy, it rained earlier in the day. But this company we booked through is AMAZING and has a policy that if you did not get to see the northern lights you will be rebooked for free. Second night it was a clear one, but again we did not see them. They rebooked us for a third night. Sadly, we did not see them. Almost all hope was lost that on our trip to Iceland we would not get to see the northern lights. But, sometimes in these situations you got to have hope in the universe, and be persistent! Amazingly, they allowed us to rebook one last time since it was our last night. Alas, we saw the lights! It was such a magical experience, and could not thank our guide Martin enough. He was our guide 3 of the 4 nights and he made sure to do all he could to get to the right area to see these lights. He helped us point them out and was on it when they would switch areas. He has the perfect eye for them! I would recommend booking with this company. The rebooking process was made so easy and we were so thankful for them allowing us to rebook so many times. Thank you!!

Pretty lights when we found them! 💚 - Large tour bus with pick up from bus stop No 12. It wasn’t the most organised at the bus stop with a lot of people hanging around waiting to be picked up. I thought it was quite expensive for such a large number of people on the coach but it served a purpose. Learnt some interesting facts on the trip from the driver (tour guide) and were given a small hot chocolate later on which was well received! It was towards the end of the season for the lights and as they aren’t guaranteed we were very lucky that they came out 💚 not the brightest but ticked off the list nonetheless 😊 Plan this on your first night as you can go again for free if you don’t see them 👍🏻

Bucket list check off!! - I was lucky enough to see the lights, a memorable experience. Could you been better if: A- The guide would wear a vest that makes them easy to locate. With so many folks on the tour he was hard to locate IN THE DARK AT THE STOPS FOR QUESTIONS. B- Please speak louder while talking on the bus. VERY HARD TO HEAR THE EXCLAMATION ON THE LIGHTS from the speakers on the back of the bus. Maybe start by asking….”can everyone hear me “……

Really poor! - I fully understand that the Northern Lights are never guaranteed and no tour operator can control this, so we were prepared for the eventuality of not seeing them, although obviously we hoped we would. Our guide wasn’t the best, he was fairly chatty but just kept repeating the same information mainly about how great the northern lights were two days prior to our trip. He also told us a few facts about Iceland/Reykjavik- which completed contradicted the tour guide with the same company on the Golden Circle tour we took a day later! So who knows which one was accurate. It became very clear that we were not going to see the Northern Lights as it was all clouds and not a star in the sky, so to be continuously told how great they were a couple of days ago felt very much like salt in the wound! The majority of places we drove to and stopped at, so did the large Bus Travel Iceland coaches, we had paid extra for the small group - don’t waste your money as there isn’t any difference! And to add insult to injury they allowed someone from the large coach onto our small bus! They offer a free return trip if you don’t see them but this was cancelled every other night of our stay in Iceland so we couldn’t go back. I complained to the company via email, which I had to chase about this and the Golden Circle tour as our van broke down on that one! Their response was poor, they blind you with science around the Northern Lights and insisted there was a chance we might have seen them that night, even though our guide told us if there aren’t any stars you won’t see them - they’ll tell you the weather can change quickly in Iceland but if that’s the case and you’re never really sure then I don’t understand why the trips were cancelled the other nights! They were not very prepared to be accountable and even included a thinly veiled attempt at being facetious with regards to the customer who joined our bus tour asking if I had seen their ticket! Yes of course, I often ask to see the tickets of other passengers. What they were so unprofessionally getting at was I didn’t know they weren’t supposed to be on our bus but when they were giggly and whispering when they head count was taking place whispered said oh and an addition! Which they thought was really funny, I didn’t need to see their ticket to gather what had happened. BusTravel Iceland referred me back to Get Your Guide, I fail to see how it’s their responsibility to issue any kind of refund when the failings were on the part of your company not the booking provider. All round a really, really poor and expensive experience. Our tour should have been cancelled and we should have got our money back rather then take us out on a bus for hours without any hope of seeing them and giving us conflicting information - the guide even said no other buses have seen them but the response in my email to their customer service said other buses did! Hard to know what’s the truth and what isn’t when it’s all so conflicting! Things can go wrong and not to plan but it’s always so important how a company deals with this and can be a very redeeming factor, not in this case! Would not book with this company again should I ever return to Iceland.
