Embark on a thrilling 4x4 buggy ride on century-old forest paths that lead to the tallest viewpoint in Rotorua. Our fleet comprises 2-seater and 4-seater buggies to accommodate your group. A security orientation comes before the trip, coupled with practice rounds in our training zone to acquaint you with handling the extraordinary buggy. A certified guide will lead your journey. Halfway through, you can choose to switch drivers to share the thrill. We offer safety helmets, and each driver is required to have a valid license from their home country. The excursion offers stunning vistas with scheduled stopovers at specific viewpoints. Don’t forget to bring your phone to immortalize the experience.
- Evidence of drivers license is required from all drivers wishing to participate in this activity. Minimum of NZ Restricted license is required.

Adventure Playground is a must for all the family - The service from start to finish was top notch. We had Josh as our guide for the hour long self drive tour, he was so knowledgeable, not only of the area but also of the history dating away back to the 1400’s. The 4 wheel drive machines handled every obstacle we came across, were such fun to drive. Then we went clay bird shooting, again with Josh, he was the absolute master when it came to safety, helped us navigate our way to actually hitting a few birds in the process. Luckily we had a bright sunny autumn day to enjoy the surroundings & views from Adventure Playground. Thank you Josh for the perfect day.

Great fun! Awesome guide. - We originally had the 30minute session booked, however, it was later suggested that we take the 1 hour session instead and we are so glad we did. Very enjoyable trip, and the scenery and track you get with the longer ride was definitely worth it for us. We will be back to try some of their other activities in the future.

A well worth it must do! - Another fantastic visit! Did the 4x4 buggy & clay bird shooting & had a blast (pardon the pun) Everyone at Adventure Playground are incredibly professional & freindly. Definitely going back!

Great Guide ("Eazy") and 4 person 4x4 was a blast! - Visiting New Zealand and Rotorua from the States, and happened to just drive by this adventure company. We picked the 4 person 4x4 tour. "Eazy" was our guide. Very knowledgeable about the area and full of energy. We spent a hour driving around the hills, the forest and back roads. Great views and real fun.
Wintertime is mild and a great time to go in my opinion (especially if you are from the States and want to be out of bad heat/humidity from home).
Be sure to stop by and check them out when in Rotorua!

What an experience! - This was a fantastic way to explore the forests and see the beautiful views of the lake and the city below. This was our favourite activity during our weeklong trip to Rotorua. Will definitely be back to do this again.

Awesome Experience - We had a really good instructor, I believe his name was Matt? He made time to get to know us and have a genuine conversation. It was a really enjoyable experience and would do it especially if Matt was there :)

Great ride that can’t be missed! - Great staff & brilliant design of the track! A very exciting experience that can’t be missed! We also tried the clay shooting. The coach provided clear instructions & encouraging active. Great stuff!

Adventure heaven👌 - I had an amazing experience of driving an ATV buggy at Adventure Playground. My guides Steve and Craig were awesome. They made sure that I had the best adventure and fun I was looking for without compromising on safety . I had a nice and insightful conversation with Craig, gem of a person. They were really helpful and entertaining.

Bed experience - Excellent shooting experience. But worst experience for 4*4 bugee driving. They have written self drive but it’s not correct, they place you in passenger seat till half the road. Never take bugee self ride as it is just a waste of money nothing else than that.
