Great city tour! - We loved our tour with Olafemi Tours!! Vagner was our guide and he had SO MUCH knowledge. Mind you, it is an in depth tour, so be prepared to be going places! The spots were great and it was amazing to hear of the Afro history and experience in not only Salvador, but also Brasil.

Amazing Day Tour! - Joshuel puts his heart and soul into this exciting cultural tour around Historic Salvador! By car and walking, Joshuel knows his history because he lives it! The tour is expertly designed with stops at just the right time, ceramacists, artists, ice cream, coconut water w lime, lunch and a nice cachace at his favorite stop to top it off. We started at 10am and ended at 5pm but we were never bored or tired. We had a great time with our new brother Joshuel!

Comprehensive History and Fun! - Vagner was our guide and he was superb! He met us promptly at the hotel at the designated time. He showed a deep knowledge of the general history and specific African history of Salvador. This was important to us which was one of the reasons we wanted to spend time in Bahia while we visited Brazil. He pointed out the areas of particular note at each stop, and his commentary broadened our knowledge considerably. The lunch of local food that was included in the tour was very good (Vagner even explained the ingredients !) Be prepared for walking uphill on cobblestone streets in the historic center which are manageable. I would highly recommend the tour and make sure to ask for Vagner!

His knowledge of the African history within Bahia and Brazil provided us an important context to our trip throughout the country. He was open to answering all questions - both relevant and not. An Amazing and Insightful Day Trip! - This insightful tour of Salvador, Bahia highlighted its unique Black Diaspora cultures. What made the tour special was the great care by guide Josuel, who shared his encyclopedic knowledge of Salvador history, culture, and local life. Included were visits to varied places which figured prominently in the local development of Salvador and in the development of Brazil writ large. Bravo!

JT's review - The Historical African-Oriented City Tour is a must! I was able to explore different neighborhoods, learn about deities and local politics, and even visit spots where Michael Jackson filmed. The open-air market was filled with diverse food choices - try the roasted cashews!!! What stood out most was the friendly vibe from the guide—he made history fun. If you want a journey blending history, culture, and a bit of pop culture, this tour is a must-do. Get ready to be entertained and enlightened by the vibrant spirit of the city!

Comprehensive historical, religious, political and culinary tour of Bahia! - Josuel We were so fortunate to have Josuel from Olefemi Tours accompany us on our trip in Bahia. His presence, warmth and knowledge, added so much to our experience. He perfectly accommodated our needs and exceeded our expectations at every turn. We felt so taken care of: he smoothly handled all our accommodations, transportation and went over and beyond to give us an extraordinary experience in Salvador and Cachoeira and set up our boat rides to and from Itaparica and Morro de Sao Paulo. During our 16 day stay, we acquired a great context and understanding of Bahia’s history, culture, politics and religions. We highly recommend his service to anyone traveling in Bahia!
