Highlights

Day 1

Troll Expeditions - You will be picked up from your accommodation, and from there, set out to explore the countryside, heading towards the South Coast of Iceland.

Seljalandsfoss - The adventure begins when we pick you up in Reykjavík in a small and comfortable minibus before heading straight to the South. Our arrival is announced by the powerful theatrics of Seljalandsfoss. Bring a raincoat and you’ll be able to make the short hike behind the falls. The scene behind the fall and the trembling ground from the power of the falling water makes for an automatic Instagram blockbuster!

Skogafoss - Further east along the coast is Skógafoss waterfall. Skógafoss is an incredibly picturesque sight. Tucked in a little gorge, the river Skógá tumbles down a 60 meter cliff before continuing down the landscape towards the Atlantic Ocean. Alongside the gorge a staircase can take you to the shelf above the waterfall for stunning views. See if you can count your steps on your way up.

Reynisfjara Beach - Heading further east, we visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara where the Atlantic coastline presents massive waves hitting the unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. Rock pillars in the water and the cliffs of Dýrhólaey are seen in the distance. This area of the south is also a paradise for bird lovers, as puffins and dozens of other unique species nest on top of these cliffs in the summertime from June to August.

Solheimajokull Glacier - You will hike on a glacier and have fun!
All the glacier gears are included, you just need to bring your hiking boots and waterproof clothes (available for rent in case needed)

Day 2

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Boat Tours and Cafe - Heading off on the second day, you’ll head to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lagoon fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Enormous icebergs come from Breiðamerkurjökull all year round so the lagoon is usually filled with ice that floats south. Tröll Expeditions will give you the opportunity to join a boat ride among the icebergs during summer time and get a closer look of the millenary ice.

Fellsfjara - On the other side of the road the icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean where they are quickly thrown back to shore by the tide and winds. This black sand beach is full of smaller ice rocks in all shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. The ice itself comes in all shades of white and blue forming beautiful contrasts, guaranteed to make your Instagram account pop!

Reykjavik - You will be back to Reykjavik capital city at around 19.00.
The drop off takes usually 15-30 minutes depending on the traffic.

Best guide I’ve ever met with the most incredible experience - If you have an awesome guide and nice weather, you’ll absolutely love the tour. The experience is unique - ice cave is especially astonishing. Our guide - Max - is the best and most considerate guide I’ve ever seen. He tried his best to enrich this journey while staying safe and fun for us. He welcomed us with putting all luggages on bus, and ALWAYS open and close the heavy door for us every time under super windy day of Iceland. And while we have a sunny day - it’s actually a window weather - strong side winds makes the driving harder and dangerous. But Max would drive slow and really focus on driving with always reminding us stay away from the danger area, and even while across the roads. You can feel he cares about you a lot. Also, even strong side wind makes the trip has lesser time available, he still tried his best to bring us to secret spots like Viking cave. And he’s very willing to share what he knows - culture, history and geography about Iceland. It’s really a pleasure experience for us. Thank you Max, take care yourself too and could bring a sunglass next, it would greatly lower the pressure of your eyes after the long driving.

Bring a power bank - The tour guide ALEX is awesome! He introduced us to Iceland's classics and carefully reminded us of various precautions. The whole trip was very enjoyable! We went to the black sand beach, diamond beach, blue ice cave, and waterfall! Dinner is not included in the tour, but breakfast is included. The tour guide said June is the best time to visit Iceland. If there is a chance, I will come again! ^_^

2 days south coast tour with Oihane and Martin - We did the 2 days south coast tour with our guide Oihane. We loved her enthusiasm and the way she talked and took an interest in everyone on the tour. Her explanations of the region and its history were fascinating. As for the glacier hike, we were guided by Martin, who was very patient and made the whole group feel at ease. In particular, he ordered the people in the group so that everyone could walk at their own pace, while ensuring the group's safety. He also taught us a lot about safety and how to use the equipment provided. Finally, we really appreciated the Smyrlabjorg hotel, which was very spacious and offered very typical, very good cuisine.

Fabulous trip on the South Coast with awesome sites. - This tour was fantastic. Johann our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. He certainly knew his stuff. The advertised sites were all hit plus Johann gave us one or two bonus extras each day that were fabulous. The glacier hike was fascinating and the iceberg lagoon was something special. This is a tour worth doing.

Great experience with Troll Expeditions and Maggi - Definitely the highlight of our trip to Iceland. Covered the main sights of South coast, the transportation was comfortable and we had enough time at every stop. Highly recommend Maggi as a guide. She was fantastic and made the tour a memorable experience for us. She also added in a few extra stops on the way back as we were good on time such as a visit to the Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. Overall, highly recommend the tour and ask for Maggi as your guide. The glacier walk was quite a nice experience and the entire Troll team on site was quite experienced and we felt quite safe.

Fantastic, highly recommended - The flexibility of the Tour Guide, to maximise our experience and match it to the weather conditions. Kuba was excellent, he went above and beyond. His calm personality and jokes made the trip memorable and personable. He was hands on and helped those clients who were unsure and made sure that everyone had a good time.

Great experience with Troll and John! - Took me a while to get round to writing this review (since June 2022!) but finally managed to do what was due... An absolute pleasure to travel and do sightseeing with Troll! Special thanks to John who made sure the whole group was well taken care of! He also was very friendly to everyone and packed our trip with extra stops and attractions. The stories he told were really interesting. You could see, he is one of those people who are passionate about their job. Hope to come back one day, this time in the winter time! Thanks Troll Expeditions (and John)!

Amazing! - Jon Sighis was my tour guide and he made the trip amazing! He got us where we needed to be on time always. He made sure to stop at all the appropriate locations and keep us informed as to what was next. I think this experience was probably the most unique one of my excursions in Iceland. I would highly recommend! Jon was also able to find the northern lights for us to see on the way back from hiking the glacier! Trip was amazing!

A Fantastic 2-Day Tour Wonderful Experience - I just want to say: THANK YOU, Thank you for making such an incredible job, for the organization you all have as a team, for the amazing people who are working in Troll Expeditions. I went with the great tour Guide Margrét Gauja and it was like a dream coming true! We visited all these beautiful places at the South Coast, we hiked Falljökull and Margrét made me feel SO energetic and comfortable during the entire activity. I also enjoyed how she was telling the information about the places and the Nature around. She made me feel so empowered that I just wanted to keep hiking and getting all wet at the waterfalls hahah. If I can go to another activity with Troll Expeditions, I'd definitely choose Margrét Gauja as my Tour guide again. 100/10

Exceeded Expectations! - We just returned four our four day, four night tour of Iceland. Everything about the trip exceeded our expectations. From the transfer from the airport after landing to the relaxing waters of the Blue Lagoon, to the culture of towns like Reykjavik and Vic, getting up close and personal with numerous, breathtaking waterfalls, watching the sun set from Falljokull, and so much more. All of these memories were made under the guidance of our knowledgeable, kind, and enjoyable guides from Troll Expeditions, Aenard (sp?), our driver/guide for three of our four days, and Carmina, our amazing glacier guide. The only change I’d recommend is offer your captive audience, those of us who are new Trolls, an opportunity to purchase a Troll Expeditions - Iceland t-shirt upon completion of this awesome. Takk, Troll Expeditions!
