Safaga port to Luxor

Port Safaga - You will be collected from the cruise exit door at Safaga port and transported to Luxor in a private air-conditioned car, with the journey taking approximately 3 hours.

Temple of Karnak - Upon reaching your destination, you’ll explore the Karnak Temples, housing a total of 22 temples. Among the notable structures in Karnak is the impressive Hypostyle Hall, featuring an array of 134 columns. Situated within the Karnak Temple walls, the Karnak Temple Complex, also known as the Karnak Open Air Museum, encompasses a vast array of ancient structures, including deteriorated temples, chapels, pylons, and various other edifices near Luxor, Egypt. The construction of this complex commenced in the Middle Kingdom under the rule of Senusret I, extending into the Ptolemaic period, with the majority of the existing buildings dating back to the New Kingdom.

Luxor Temple - Explore the Luxor Temple on your journey, a testament to the diverse religious history of Egypt, encompassing Pharaonic, Christian, and Islamic influences. The connection between these two temples is marked by the impressive Sphinx Avenue, spanning over 3 km. This expansive Ancient Egyptian temple complex, built around 1400 BCE, is situated on the east bank of the Nile River in what is now called Luxor (ancient Thebes). Referred to in the Egyptian language as “ipet resyt,” meaning “the southern sanctuary,” Luxor boasts numerous grand temples on both the east and west banks of the Nile. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Luxor.

West Bank and back to Safaga Port

Valley of the Kings - Following your morning meal at the hotel, you’ll be collected for a journey across the Nile to explore the West Bank. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the renowned Valley of the Kings, which houses more than 62 tombs dating back to the New Kingdom of 1550 BC. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to explore three of these tombs. The Valley of the Kings served as a burial ground for pharaohs and influential nobles from the 16th to 11th century BC, spanning nearly 500 years. Situated on the west bank of the Nile, facing modern Luxor (ancient Thebes), the valley is at the heart of the Theban Necropolis and is divided into two sections: the East Valley, where most of the royal tombs are located, and the West Valley.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Explore the Hatshepsut Temple, a marvel of modern design featuring three terraces. Also known as the Djeser-Djeseru, this mortuary temple in Upper Egypt was constructed for the Eighteenth Dynasty pharaoh Hatshepsut. Nestled beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings, it pays homage to Amun and Hatshepsut. Adjacent to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, which served as both inspiration and a quarry, this site is considered one of the “incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt.

Colossi of Memnon - Explore the Colossi of Memnon, a pair of enormous statues depicting Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Situated in the Theban Necropolis, west of the River Nile near Luxor, these imposing figures have graced the landscape since 1350 BCE. Behind them lies the remnants of Amenhotep III’s temple, adding to the historical allure of the site. The Colossi, alternatively known as el-Colossat or es-Salamat in Arabic, stand as monumental symbols of Egypt’s Dynasty XVIII.
