Our best trip so far! - We had an amazing tour guide named Samuel who spoke fluent English, Spanish and the native languages. This was a great asset to get to know the different cultures and be able to communicate with the native inhabitants. Samuel was very knowledgeable, informative and funny and we got to know Peru in a whole different light. The natives cooked traditional meals for us and made us feel very welcome. Staying in a traditional house was an interesting and cozy experience. I would fully recommend the tour! (also our boat driver was better than the one from the titanic :))

Beautiful and Unique Experience at Lake Titicaca, Peru - We were well cared for by Hugo and his team. They showed us the major sites in Puno. The next morning we headed out to tour the Uros and learn about those people and their floating islands. They are an interesting people to visit. The overnight stay with a family on Amantani Island was very memorable. The people are warm and welcoming. They were wonderful; we enjoyed living with them, eating with them, hiking and dancing. During the visit to Taquile Island we saw some of their expert knitting work and hiked over the peaceful beautiful country side. I recommend this experience and this group.

Uros bad, family nice experience, but please book with the right agency! - I would consider the trip to Uros, Amantanì and Taquile island a 3 stars tour. If you are interested in going there, please read above. The experience with a local family in Amantanì island is authentic and worth. However, we found out during our trip that agencies in Puno created a big business over those poor families. We have paid 90 dollars for the whole 2 days trip and a part is going to the family, unfortunately these money goes to the family only one in a while. So the best is to book the tour with the only agency in Puno who cares, which is called Always Travel (close to Plaza de Armas). Booking with them you pay the tour/guide and you pay cash directly to the family, so you are sure that those money arrive to them. The Uros floating Island are nice, but they are definitely a tourist trap. They are A MUSEUM, they are not real. We got there paying a price for the whole trip and then we had to pay the 10 sole extra for the boat. Our guide also told us in a impolite way that we had to pay those extra money that we were advised before because we have taken some pictures. Therefore in the island the fake inhabitants press you to buy things for a really expensive price. Kids are sent to you to ask money in exchange of a picture or some music. It's a huge business create only for taking advantage of tourists. Taquile island is also nice. We had to climb 500 steps in order to reach the main Plaza and was so hard due to the lack of oxygen. Afterwards we have been taken to a restaurant at 11am to have lunch (this lunch isn't included in the price and the guide make you feel you have to eat and pay). We weren't hungry at that time so we informed the guide that we weren't consuming the meal, he reply us in a very impolite way sending us back to the boat. So, briefly, the trip is worth the experience with the family, but it's a huge business that take advantage of tourists pressing them to buy extra things all trip long.

Nice stay in Uros - The experience of staying in Uros island with locals is really nice especially if you are able to communicate with them in Spanish and you are prone to help them. In my experience, locals were a bit reserved at the beginning but after insisting a bit I could learn a lot about their life in Uros while helping them in the kitchen. The boat trip it was comfortable enough but not incredible. Information provided by the guide was incomplete and not always correct.

Dawn with indigenous family - Beautiful tour except having to wake up at the indigenous house. Worrying health situation, the market is on a wet floor, they do not have minimum conditions to prepare meals. The least you can get is diarrhea due to parasites and bacteria. The situation can be complicated by sepsis of abdominal origin and bacteremia. Really very serious
