Amman - Petra
Amman - In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Amman and transferred via the Desert Highway for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to the breathtaking rock city of Petra. This captivating ancient Nabatean capital once dominated the Arabian trade routes and is a must-see in the Middle East. Meet your guide at the Visitor’s Centre and begin exploring this mystical site. You’ll pass through the Siq, a narrow gorge offering your first close views of the colorful sandstone, ending at the stunning Treasury. Walk along the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs, the Theatre, and Qasr Al Bint. Enjoy some free time on your own before retracing your steps back.
Afterwards, you have the option to take a Wadi Rum Jeep tour for an additional $15 per person, followed by setting up your tent for an overnight stay in Wadi Rum.
Petra - Wadi Musa - Head south towards the Nabatean Red Rose City of Petra, considered one of the wonders of the world. Located 139 miles (225 kilometers) from Amman, this city was carved into stone over 2000 years ago to control the trade routes of ancient Arabia. Visit its towns, dams, and water channels, and enjoy a walk along the narrow Siq, the main entrance to the city. The first sight you’ll encounter is the Khazneh, believed to be a tomb for one of the Nabatean Kings. You’ll also see other monuments such as The Monastery and the Altar of Sacrifice. In the afternoon, you’ll head towards Wadi Rum, known as the valley of the moon, where the movie Lawrence of Arabia and more recently The Martian were filmed. Spend the night in Wadi Rum and the next day, move towards the Dead Sea (Night stay and activities in Wadi Rum depend on your selected tour option).
Wadi Rum - Dead Sea - Amman
Wadi Rum - Enjoy breakfast and sunrise at the camp. Transfer about 4 hours to the Dead Sea. Float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea at the lowest point on earth and enjoy lunch. You’ll have some free time before driving back to your hotel in Amman or Queen Alia airport, which is approximately a 1.15-hour drive (you can arrive by 4:00 pm or later).
Wadi Rum - Wadi Rum is a uniquely-shaped massive mountain rising among the rosy red sand of the desert, with towering cliffs in various shades of brown, red, and gold. Then, you’ll move to the Dead Sea, one of the most remarkable places in the world. The Dead Sea is aptly named as no fish can survive in its waters. It is one of Jordan’s most impressive and spectacular sites. Its calm, shimmering waters, glowing under the scorching sun, are known for their high concentration of salt and minerals, making it both a therapeutic and unique swimming experience not to be missed. Enjoy some free time to swim before returning to your hotel in Amman.
