Argolis

Corinth Canal - Our first stop is the Corinth Canal. This canal links the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It slices through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth, effectively separating the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably turning the peninsula into an island.

Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - Corinth was a city-state located on the Isthmus of Corinth, the slender land bridge that connects the Peloponnese to mainland Greece, situated roughly midway between Athens and Sparta.

Archaeological Site Mycenae - Mycenae is an archaeological site near Mykines in Argolis, in the northeastern Peloponnese, Greece. In the second millennium BC, Mycenae was a major center of Greek civilization, a military stronghold that dominated much of southern Greece, Crete, the Cyclades, and parts of southwest Anatolia.

Acronauplia - Akronafplia is a rocky peninsula on a small hill located in the city of Nafplio. It used to be a significant fortress built by the Venetians but was occupied by various conquerors over time. From there, we will enjoy the breathtaking view of Nafplio city and the sea.

Nafplio - Nafplio is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the northern end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was an important seaport held by a succession of royal houses during the Middle Ages as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia, initially held by the de la Roche following the Fourth Crusade before coming under the Republic of Venice and, finally, the Ottoman Empire. The town was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and the Kingdom of Greece from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834. Nafplio is now the capital of the regional unit of Argolis.

The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus - The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is part of the archaeological site of Epidaurus and is located at the southeast end of the sanctuary dedicated to the ancient Greek god of medicine, Asclepius. It is built on the west side of Cynortion Mountain, near modern Lygourio, and belongs to the Epidaurus Municipality. It is considered the most important ancient Greek theatre in terms of acoustics and aesthetics.

Olympia

Archaeological Site of Olympia - In the morning, after our breakfast, we will visit the archaeological sites and the museum of ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. You will see the ancient stadium that hosted the Olympic Games every four years from 776 B.C. to 393 A.D., the Palaistra, where athletes trained for wrestling events. Additionally, you will visit the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, which housed the statue of Olympian Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Finally, you will see the workshop of Pheidias, the great sculptor and architect who created some of the greatest statues of his time, including the goddess Athena Parthenos, Athena Promachos, and Olympian Zeus. Early in the evening, we will return to Athens.

Archimedes Museum - You will explore many of Archimedes’ inventions that changed ancient history.
