M’hamid– Erg Chigaga
Erg Chigaga - Experience a sacred oasis and spend the night in an Erg Chigaga desert camp. Your Sahara desert adventure to Erg Chegaga starts at our Morocco desert camp just outside the village of M’Hamid El Ghizlane. You can either arrive in the morning or stay in our basecamp the night before (a complimentary delicious breakfast is included). You will be welcomed with tea, as is customary, and we will discuss the journey ahead to ensure you have everything you need for your Erg Chigaga excursion.
We will pack our 4x4 Jeep with water, snacks, and luggage and set off on our Erg Chigaga adventure. Following the path of the Wad Latash river, you will soon find yourself surrounded by a variety of diverse desert landscapes. You will see tamarisk trees (mentioned in ancient texts, including the Bible), vast stone plains, and herds of wild camels. Along the way, we will visit a sacred oasis where Sahara nomads gathered for celebrations.
Erg Chegaga – Mhamid
M’Hamid - Return journey from Erg Chegaga to M’Hamid El Ghizlane.
The second day of your Erg Chigaga excursion is dedicated to returning to M’hamid. In the morning, you have the option to wake up early to witness a stunning desert sunrise. After enjoying a delicious breakfast in the Erg Chigaga desert camp, you will have some free time to explore the dunes. We will load our 4x4 jeep and head back to the village of M’Hamid El Ghizlane, arriving at approximately 10 am. This concludes your Erg Chigaga Excursion.

Our tours are operated by local travel guides. The majority of our staff is from M’hamid El Ghizlane and many of us hail from nomadic families from the Sahara desert. No one knows the desert better than we do as it is our home.
