Oudtshoorn - Begin with a pickup from your central Cape Town hotel, and then travel in a private vehicle to the Western Cape. Gaze out at the awe-inspiring scenery along Route 62, which meanders through the desert region of Klein Karoo as well as countryside and coastal areas from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. The journey takes between five to six hours, but several stops are factored in so you can stretch your legs, take photos and eat. After venturing through the landscape of rugged plains and towering cliffs, stop in Oudtshoorn, the region’s principle town, so-called ‘ostrich capital,’ and your base for the night.

Wander along the Garden Route - a piece of paradise on the southeastern coast of South Africa. Adventure awaits you over the next three days. Enjoy a 4x4 safari with a game ranger as you set out to spot some members of Africa’s Big Five, and connect with nature on a tranquil bushwalk amongst the animals in a private game reserve. Walk along forest footpaths and hop in a canoe to float along a calm river in Wilderness area, keeping an eye out for the abundant birdlife. Face your fears as you hurtle off the world’s highest bungy bridge (an optional extra) or visit the 100-year old tree in the thick of the Tsitsikamma forest. An action-packed itinerary with free time for you to partake in optional activities scheduled or venture off and have your own adventures in the nearby area.
- Daily drive time: about 4 to 6 hours / in total 1200 km route. This packed, fast-paced itinerary is filled with many of the best highlights the area has to offer. Ideal for the young-at-heart, this trip will have you driving along the coast and inland for most of the journey with stops.
