Highlights

Bishkek - Burana Tower - Konorchek canyon - Cholpon Ata town

Bishkek - In the morning you’ll be picked up from your hotel and we’ll head straight towards the Issyk Kul region (230km).

Burana Tower - On the way, stop at the famous 11th century Burana Tower. This UNESCO World Heritage site will be of interest to history fiends. We’ll spend about 30 minutes here: climb on top of the tower, visit the archaeology museum and walk around to have a look at balbals (ancient stones with depictions). Resuming our way to Issyk Kul.

Konorchek Canyons - On the way we’re visiting the picturesque Konorchek canyon for a light but awesome hike. Moving on. Lunch on the way.

Cholpon Ata - Upon arrival in Cholpon Ata (central town of the lake’s north coast) we’re checking-in to a hotel. Now we’re driving to the local dock to have a beautiful ship ride out on the lake. After roaming 4km away the ship will stop at the depth of 120 meters. In the hot season (May-September) you may dive into the water and enjoy a surreal swim (life jackets provided). In the other seasons you will have no less beautiful time on the ship enjoying the lake’s splendor and mountains all around. Free time. Dinner at a restaurant. Overnight (Olimp hotel or similar)

Cholpon Ata - Grigoriev Gorge - Semyonov gorge - Karakol town - Jeti Oguz valley

Cholpon Ata - In the morning we’re starting to move towards the south coast of the lake.

Grigoryevka - On the way we’re visiting the 2 stunning Grigoriev and Semyonov gorges to explore their wonderful landscapes and some hidden alpine lakes. Lunch after hiking.

Karakol - Moving on. Arrival in Karakol town that is located on the line between the north and south coasts. Short city tour: Dungan mosque (1910), Russian Orthodox church (1895).

Jeti-Oguz Canyon (Seven Bulls Rocks) - Resuming our way along the south coast towards Jeti Oguz valley. Driving deeper into the valley of flowers we’ll arrive at “Jailoo” (green summer pasture) where yurt camps are located. Now it’s time for a magnificent horseback voyage through forests and up the mountains to the lovely Maiden Braids waterfall. Free time for walking on the meadows. Dinner. Bonfire time outside and stargazing. Overnight in yurts (traditional Kyrgyz dwelling).

Jeti Oguz - Skazka canyon - Ak Sai village - Bishkek

Jeti-Oguz Canyon (Seven Bulls Rocks) - Today is the last day of our lovely journey and it offers you several more exciting activities to experience. In the morning after breakfast we’ll spend some time for a walk in Jeti Oguz.

Bokonbayevo - Visiting Ak Sai village where we are going to witness a spectacular Eagle Hunting process (an eagle hunting for its prey). The Berkutchi (eagle’s owner) will tell you more precisely about this traditional way of hunting and after that you’ll participate in the archery part yourself. Picnic on the wild beach of Issyk Kul. Swimming and sunbathing. Short hike to the Canyon of Forgotten Rivers. Now it’s time to head back to Bishkek (230km).

Bishkek - Upon arrival in the capital city you’ll be dropped off at your hotel (not included). This is the end of our intense but awesome tour, thank you very much!

Discovered a hidden gem in Kyrgyzstan-thank you Ventura Tours! - We had an amazing trip - As it was still “off season” in April some tourist places to stay/eat were closed but our guide and driver took excellent care of us and made everything work out. Also the people in the support office team were fantastic making sure we were comfortable. The scenery is out of this world - if you’ve always wondered about going to this country just go :) you won’t be disappointed

I Learned a Lot. I Saw So Much Beauty - For 3 days I was immersed in Kyrgyzstan culture, beauty, and foods. I was quite comfortably driven to an awesome selection of sites. My guide Baiel (in photo) and driver Rayum were fun and professional. They were focused on ensuring that all my needs were met and all my questions were answered. I could never have seen so much beauty, and learned so much, without their dedication and guidance.

Great company, highly recommend - We did the 3 day tour around Issyk-Kul with Ventura and had a brilliant trip. We were taken around by Abdi and Baha who were both excellent, really knowledgeable, passionate, professional and great fun. Great food and accommodation choices. We had regular contact with Ash during the booking process and in the run up to the trip, always super quick and helpful to answer any of our queries. This tour made our whole trip to Kyrgyzstan and we would highly recommend Ventura.

Nature, Fun, Safety, Value - I made a reservation directly with a local travel agency in Ventura and had a very enjoyable and safe trip for 3 days. Guide Bek and driver Chang responsibly conducted the trip for a couple in their 60s. Ventura is said to have 26 young, cheerful and knowledgeable guides and staff. There are better things to see and eat in Kyrgyzstan than in Kazastan. I highly recommend it.

Excellent 3-Day Tour Around Issyk Kul - It's an unforgettable experience of a 3-Day private tour abound Issyk Kul! Not only is there a chance to see a picturesque view of the Tianshan mountain, but we can also explore the native cultures, including eagle hunting and Dongan town life. We couldn't have accomplished such a vibrant and tight tour if we hadn't gotten help from our excellent guides, Ash and Bek. Ash and Bek are native Kyrgyz guys who have lived in the US. There's no wonder that they can communicate with people from different nations. They're humorous, friendly and professional( They are skilled at trekking, horse riding and driving, these skills are quite important in snow mountains). I have to say we feel like being with two friends on this 3-Day tour. The tour can cover all your imagination of Issyk Kul. Trekking and horseback riding in snow mountains and canyons, yacht cruising in the lake, visiting native villages and towns, camping. It's really suitable for the tourist who's eager to experience everything around Issyk Kul in several days.

An interesting journey with excellent guide and driver - Boca was a great guide. He was extremely helpful, friendly and very assiduous in carrying out his duties. Baha was an excellent driver. A very big thank you to these wonderful guys. The Burana Tower, Skazka Canyon, Kok Moinok Canyon and Jeti Ogurz Canyon were spectacular and we really enjoyed the eagle hunting experience. We also visited the outdoor museum of petroglyphs by the lake side, which was very interesting as you get to see scenes that were painted from 7 BC as well as balbals. The yurt stay and the horse riding to the waterfall were very enjoyable. The hotel stay however was just so-so because the amenities bottles in the bathroom were empty and there was no air conditioning which made the room stuffy. We opened up the window and tried to ensure the curtain didn’t obscure the window too much. However sunrise is 4:30am, so we woke up to a bird that was perched outside the window, tweeting. We travelled during May so I don’t know what Summer would be like. The places where Boca and Baha took us to eat were fantastic. They were all clean with a fabulous variety of food. Special mention should go to an excellent local cafe in Semenovka where food was made by the family with amazing freshly baked bread that was hot when we got it - even if you are full, you need to try the bread! It would have been a 5 star review however the tour is overpriced for what we paid and the dinner on day 3 was not offered, as is clearly stated in the itinerary.
