Sigiriya Day Trip

Sri Muthumariamman Temple - On the way to Sigiriya, visit this temple. The temple, featuring 1008 statues of Hindu deities, was crafted by South Indian sculptor Nagalingam and his son Ramanathan, with the assistance of around 100 designers, painters, and architects from Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. The Raja Koburum was completed in 2007 at a cost of approximately Rs 150M.

Dambulla Royal Cave Temple and Golden Temple - Also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, this World Heritage Site is located in the central part of Sri Lanka, 148 kilometers east of Colombo and 72 kilometers north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built by King Kashyapa I (reigned 477–495). He constructed a palace in the shape of a monumental lion on several acres at the summit to protect against his enemies. Despite his defeat in 495, the site became a pilgrimage destination and is now a popular tourist spot. Visitors ascend to the top through the lion’s open paws, one of the few remaining parts of the palace. The site also features 21 rock paintings of apsaras (celestial singers and dancers) and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982.

Minneriya National Park - Visit Minneriya National Park, known for its large elephant population and diverse wildlife. The park is a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts and offers opportunities for safari tours.

Kandy Day Excursions

Royal Botanical Gardens - Located about 5.5 km west of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, the Royal Botanic Gardens in Peradeniya attracted 1.2 million local and 400,000 foreign visitors in 2016. Situated near the Mahaweli River, the garden is famous for its orchid collection and includes over 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees. The “National Herbarium of Sri Lanka” is also attached to the garden.

Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue - Approximately 2 kilometers from Kandy’s city center lies the Sri Maha Bodhi Viharaya, also known as the Bahirawakanda Temple. The temple is renowned for its giant white statue of Lord Buddha, standing at 88 feet, making it one of the tallest Buddha statues on the island.

Kandy View Point - For a breathtaking view of Kandy, visit the Kandy View Point, situated at 1790 feet above sea level. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city, including the lush greenery, Kandy Lake, the Temple of the Tooth Relic, and the iconic buildings. The viewing platform was identified during the British ruling period, and legend has it that a planter named Arthur used to view the city from a stone seat under a tree in front of his bungalow.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - The Kandyan dances, or up-country dances, are considered the classical dance tradition of Sri Lanka. Traditionally performed by male dancers, the technique is partly derived from South India and focuses on dynamic movements, powerful footwork, leaps, and whirls. The repertoire includes elements from ancient indigenous ritual dances and South Indian influences.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - This temple houses one of the Buddha’s teeth, a significant Buddhist relic brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century AD. The temple, first built in 1603 and rebuilt in the 18th century, has been central to the region’s politics, with legend stating that whoever possesses the tooth governs the local area.

Nuwara Eliya Day Tours/Nanoya Station Drop

Bluefield Tea Gardens - Located in Ramboda town, around 1200 meters above sea level, Bluefield Tea Garden is a popular hillside tea estate in Sri Lanka, surrounded by lush vegetation and scenic valleys.

Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls, standing at 109 meters (358 feet) high, is the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the 729th highest in the world. Located in the Pussellawa area on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass, the falls are formed by Panna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya, and are situated at an altitude of 945 meters (3,100 feet) above sea level.

Post Office Nuwara Eliya - The Nuwara Eliya Post Office, an iconic building in the center of Nuwara Eliya town, is a two-story red brick structure built in the Tudor Revival architectural style. One of the oldest post offices in the country, its upper floor, formerly the postmaster’s living quarters, was converted into tourist accommodation in 2012.

Nuwara Eliya - Often called ‘Little England,’ Nuwara Eliya has a British-country-village feel with its colonial-era bungalows, Tudor-style hotels, well-tended hedgerows, and pretty gardens. It was once the favored cool-climate escape for the English and Scottish pioneers of Sri Lanka’s tea industry.

Gregory Lake - Also known as Gregory Reservoir, Lake Gregory is located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya’s tea country. Constructed in 1873 during the period of British Governor Sir William Gregory, the lake and its surrounding area form the Gregory Lake Area.

Great Services! - We had a comfortable ride from the airport to Kandy after an exhausting midnight flight. Zameek welcome us warmly! and he is very professional in driving and well-spoken English too! it makes communication very easy! The other day our driver Irfan picked us up at the hotel, he tries to explain everything about Sri Lanka culture and food culture to us, we did not want a jam-packed tour, we decided to go for certain spots to enjoy instead! always feel free to tell him what you think, what you want or what you don't like, they will give you suggestions but never forced anything! We are satisfied with everything they provided! also impressed by Irfans professional driving skills! those roads are no joke in Sri Lanka. They always make sure everything is alright when we get back to our hotel/ next destination. Unlike other tours, I feel like I have learnt a lot of knowledge other than just hop-on and off for sightseeing which makes the best part of our trip.
