Highlights

Bimmah Sink Hole – Fins Beach – Wadi Shab – Wadi Tiwi – Ras Al Hadd

Bimmah Sinkhole - We leave Muscat and head towards Hawiyyat Najm, also known as Bimmah Sinkhole in English. This water-filled depression, a sinkhole, is located in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in Oman, near the Al Sharqiyah region, just off the highway to Sur.

Bimmah Sinkhole - Next, we drive to Fins. Fins Beach is notable for its stunning cliffs. The beach becomes even more beautiful at sunset, with thousands of hues reflecting on the waves.

Wadi Shab - We then continue our drive to Wadi Shab, a vast canyon gorge lined with palm trees and showcasing the power of water descending from the mountains. After a 35-minute hike through the canyon, we reach one of several crystal-clear water pools. Visitors can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool, eventually reaching the last pool where an opening among the large rocks allows us to swim into a breathtaking crevice cave with a small waterfall. Inside, sunlight filters in, turning the water a stunning turquoise blue while water cascades down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond. After our time at Wadi Shab, we continue our drive to the hotel in Ras Al Hadd.

Sur – Dhow Factory – Omani Ghazal Farm – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands Desert

Sur - After breakfast, we depart the hotel and drive to Sur. In the morning, we will explore the city of Sur, including some old fortresses and the famous Arabian Dhow Factory, where traditional wooden Dhows are built.

Dhow Factory - Sur is one of the most important and historic sites in Arabia, renowned for building wooden boats. ‘Dhow’ in Arabic means ‘boat.’ Located south of the Khor Al Batah suspension bridge, this museum is rich in historical significance. It also features different sections, with the distinguished Wilayat emblem ‘Al Ghanja Ship’ at the entrance. A tour of the factory offers a fascinating glimpse into how wooden boats were made in the past.

We then drive onwards to visit the Omani Ghazal Farm in Al Kamel (Asilel Farm).

Wadi Bani Khalid - Next, we drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most beautiful wadis in Oman. Here, you can swim, sunbathe, relax, and have a picnic amidst the scenic wadi canyons.

Wahiba Sands - In the late afternoon, we continue to our desert camp in the Wahiba Sands desert, where you can relax or enjoy an adventurous 4×4 drive on the sand dunes. We will watch the stunning desert sunset from one of the large sand dunes. The day concludes with dinner at the camp and a romantic time around a campfire.
