This is the archaeological site of an old Tayrona city situated in the Sierra Nevada, believed to have been established in the year 800, a time much prior to Machu Picchu.
The Tayrona haven is composed of several terraces carved into the mountainside, interconnected by tiled pathways and petite round plazas.
One can reach the Lost City by climbing approximately 1,200 stone stairs that pass through the extensive regional jungle.
