Tronco Tambopata Adventure - After settling into the bungalows, we will engage in two thrilling activities: a canopy walk between trees and a zip line ride, gliding on a steel cable through the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Tambopata River - Following lunch, we will board a boat to explore the Tambopata River, searching for wildlife along its banks. With some luck, we might spot an anaconda or a mammal drinking from the river. We’ll witness a breathtaking sunset, and as night falls, we’ll begin our quest to find alligators and capybaras, the world’s largest rodents. This tour lasts 4 hours.

We’ll turn off the engine to minimize noise and better appreciate the species commonly found along the riverbanks.

TAMBOPATA NATIONAL RESERVE (SANDOVAL LAKE)

Tambopata National Reserve - We will navigate the Madre de Dios River for an hour, observing birds in the sky and stunning landscapes. Then, we’ll embark on a 3 km walk, encountering giant trees, monkeys, butterflies, birds, parrots, and many other species. We’ll arrive at Lake Sandoval, a vast lake over 1 km long. Here, we’ll take a rowboat to minimize our impact, allowing us to see piranhas, anacondas, black caimans, wild ducks, numerous birds, and there’s an 80% chance of spotting the giant river otter, an endangered species. This tour offers ample opportunities to observe various species and enjoy the surrounding scenery. It lasts 8 hours.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to the lodge for lunch, followed by some free time. In the evening, we’ll gather around a bonfire with our guide, who will share the jungle’s mysteries. The bonfire session lasts 1.5 hours.

Parrot clay lick / kayak on the Tambopata river/Night walk

Tambopata River - We’ll rise early to prepare for a unique spectacle of various parrot species native to the Amazon. We’ll travel by land or river for about an hour from our lodge.

This unforgettable experience includes witnessing the sunrise and hearing the sounds of insects and Amazonian birds. Bird enthusiasts will find this a particularly delightful event, as these parrots are exclusive to the Amazon.

Upon arrival, we’ll observe numerous parrots gathered on the clay wall, continuing their daily diet. The minerals in the clay provide essential nutrients and detoxification benefits. It’s advised to keep a safe distance to avoid disturbing the parrots.

Tambopata River - We’ll paddle upstream on the Tambopata River, then kayak downstream for about an hour, enjoying the natural surroundings accompanied by the sounds of insects and birds. Our guide and staff will provide instructions on kayaking to ensure a pleasant experience.

Tronco Tambopata Adventure - As night falls, we’ll prepare our flashlights for a nocturnal forest tour, searching for animals, insects, and birds. We might encounter night monkeys, frogs, large tarantulas, rodents, spiders, owls, fireflies, snakes, or vipers.

We’ll also observe nocturnal plants with unique characteristics, making this a fascinating night-time adventure in the Amazon Rainforest along the Tambopata River. Our guide and staff will provide instructions on kayaking to enhance your enjoyment of this tour.

Walk in chestnut concession (giant trees)/end of the tour

Tambopata National Reserve - We’ll visit a chestnut forest conservation area to learn about the cultivation process of this important regional nut. This experience includes observing wildlife, both mammals and birds, in their natural habitat. The tour lasts 2 hours.

After breakfast, we’ll pack our bags and prepare for our departure to the city or airport. This final leg of the tour lasts 1 hour.
