Airport to Kandy

Bandaranaike International Airport - Upon arrival, receive a warm welcome from our representative at the Bandaranaike International Airport Lobby area and travel to Kandy.

Kandy - Kandy is a historic city with many ancient sites to explore.

Kandy to Sigiriya

Dambulla Cave Temple - The Dambulla Rock Temple, built by King Walagambahu in the 1st Century B.C., is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The area contains over 80 documented caves with ceiling paintings. There are 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings, and 4 statues of gods and goddesses.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Ascend the citadel of Sigiriya, constructed in the 5th century by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). Sigiriya is considered one of the world’s most remarkable creations. The path through the gardens and stone stairways leads to the Lion Gate. Today, only the rock carvings and brick structure of the lion’s mouth remain, through which millions have walked to admire this magnificent citadel.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - Kandyan dance includes various dance forms native to the Kandy area in Sri Lanka’s central hills. It has now spread to other parts of the country. Dancers wear elaborate costumes, including a headdress and a decorative beaded net covering the chest. This costume is known as the “Ves” costume. The headdress has a metallic front that makes the dancer appear taller. The complete costume also includes anklets that produce a metallic rattle.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy and houses the relic of Buddha’s tooth.

Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Waterfall is one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful waterfalls, located en route to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy. It stands 358 feet (109 meters) tall, making it the eleventh highest waterfall in Sri Lanka.

Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - Sri Lankan Tea - Tea was first planted in Sri Lanka in 1824 at the Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, with plants brought from China. More plants were introduced from Assam in 1839. In 1867, Scottish planter James Taylor planted tea seedlings on 8 hectares of forest land in the Loolkandura Estate. By 1873, Sri Lanka’s tea export industry began with 23 lbs being shipped to London. Tea grows only on rolling terrain and is classified by elevation into low grown, medium grown, and high grown.

Nuwara Eliya - Nuwara Eliya, located at the heart of the hill country 6182 feet above sea level, resembles an old English town with styled bungalows and buildings. The cool, calm climate, rolling tea plantations producing the best “Ceylon tea,” and breathtaking waterfalls make Nuwara Eliya one of the world’s most beautiful towns.

Nuwara Eliya - Departure

Colombo - Colombo, like many capital cities in developing countries, is rapidly changing. Skyscrapers are quickly replacing old buildings. However, some areas retain their old-world charm, such as a 100-year-old clock tower and several British colonial buildings.

Bandaranaike International Airport - Later, we will drop you off at the airport with the continuous smile you had throughout the journey.
