Highlights

Muscat - Bimmah Sink Hole - Fins Beach -Wadi Shab - Wadi Tiwi Photo Stop - Ras Al Hadd

Bimmah Sinkhole - Make a brief stop at Bimmah Sinkhole on your way to Wadi Shab. Get your camera ready for some great shots before continuing to Wadi Shab.

Wadi Shab - This Wadi is a vast canyon gorge adorned with palm trees and remarkable signs of the water’s power descending from the mountains. After a 35-minute hike through the canyon, we reach one of several crystal-clear water pools. Visitors can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool. Eventually, we arrive at the final pool, where an opening among the massive rocks allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall. Inside, sunlight filters in, turning the water a stunning turquoise blue while water cascades down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.

Wadi Tiwi - Our next stop is the Wadi Tiwi photo stop, named after the coastal village of Tiwi. This beautiful wadi, with its lush plantations, offers a greener feel compared to many other wadis.

Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve - Our next stop is the Wadi Tiwi photo stop, named after the coastal village of Tiwi. This beautiful wadi, with its lush plantations, offers a greener feel compared to many other wadis.

Sur - Dhow Factory - Omani Ghazal Farm - Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba Sands Desert

Sur - Sur is a port city on Oman’s eastern tip. Its shipyards, which still produce traditional wooden vessels, played a crucial role in Oman’s maritime history. In the city center, Sunaysilah Fort has four defensive towers around a courtyard.

Dhow Factory - We will show you the City of Sur with its old fortresses and the famous Arabian Dhow Factory, where you can see traditional wooden Dhows being built.

Wadi Bani Khalid - We then drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most beautiful wadis in Oman. Here you can swim, sunbathe, relax, and have a picnic in the scenic wadi canyons. A short walk takes you to large emerald pools.

Wahiba Sands - We continue to our desert camp in the Wahiba Sands desert, where you can relax or take part in an adventurous 4×4 drive in the sand dunes. Then we will watch the stunning desert sunset from one of the large sand dunes. We end the day with dinner at the camp and a romantic time around a campfire.

Wahiba Sand - Zukait Tower Tombs - Jebel Akhdar - Birkat Al Mouz Old Village - Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn - Nizwa

Wahiba Sands - Watch the sunrise early in the morning from the dunes before breakfast.

Zukait Tombs - Our next stop is the Zukait Tower Tombs in Izki. This remarkably well-preserved site was declared by UNESCO to be an “array fossilized bronze age landscape,” acting almost as a time capsule for the BCE era. The rich landscape that is home to these beehive tombs was recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1988 and has continued to provide valuable data to archaeologists worldwide.

Jebel Akhdar - Our next stop is Jebel Akhdar, also known as the Green Mountain, part of the Al Hajar Mountains range in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It rises to a height of 2,980 meters and encompasses the Saiq Plateau at 2,000 meters above sea level.

Birkat Al Mouz Ruins - Birkat Al Mouz, a unique village nestled into a mountain face, is located off the old Muscat-Nizwa road. The name translates to ‘Banana Pool’ as the area is home to many banana plantations.

Aflaj Irrigation Systems of Oman - One of the five Irrigation Systems of Oman was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Nizwa - Nizwa is an ancient city in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of northern Oman. It sits on a plain characterized by seasonal rivers and palm plantations.

Nizwa Fort - Nizwa Souq - Al Hamra Old Village - Misfah Al Arbyeen - Jebel Shams

Nizwa Fort Oman - The Nizwa Fort is a large castle in Nizwa, Oman, built in the seventeenth century. It is a popular tourist destination. Nizwa Fort is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oman because it is an excellent example of old Omani architecture, illustrating how Omani people lived in ancient times.

Nizwa Souk - The Nizwa Souk is a great place to browse and purchase Omani silver crafts and other beautiful handmade items. This extensive marketplace, one of the oldest souqs in the country, is mostly dedicated to fruit and vegetables, meat, and fish, all housed in separate blocks behind the great fort.

Al Hamra - Al Hamra is a 400-year-old town in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of northeastern Oman. The town is thriving and lively but holds a secret. The 400-year-old town emerged around an amazing abandoned village. The Al Hamra ruins are estimated to be between 700-1000 years old and are left completely untouched.

Misfah al Abriyyin - Misfat Al Abriyeen is a unique mountainous village located 1,000 meters above sea level on the mountain foothills surrounding Wilayat Al Hamra in Al Dhakhiyla Governorate. The village derives its name from the Al Abri tribe, who originally come from Misfat Al Abriyeen and Al Hamra.

Jebel Shams - Jebel Shams is a mountain located in northeastern Oman, north of Al Hamra town. It is known as Jabal Shams because it is the first place to receive sunrise in Oman due to its high peak. It is the highest mountain of the Hajar range and the country.

Grand Canyon of Oman - Bait Al Safa Museum - Bahla Fort - Jabreen Castle - Muscat

Wadi Ghul - Oman’s Grand Canyon - Wadi Ghul is an abandoned village located northwest of Al Hamra in Oman. The area is referred to as the “Omani Grand Canyon” or “The Grand Canyon of Arabia.” It is near Jebel Shams, the highest mountain peak in Oman.

Al Hamra - Bait Al Safah is one of the most famous museums in Oman, located in the village of Al Hamra in the Al Dakhliya Region. The village is 30 minutes away from Nizwa and is located at the foot of the mountains. The museum is known as a “living museum,” resembling an old Omani house, providing an exceptional experience of ancient Omani lifestyle.

Bahla Fort - Bahla Fort is one of four historic fortresses situated at the foot of the Jebel Akhdar highlands in Oman and the country’s only UNESCO-listed fort, added in 1987. The fort underwent massive restoration efforts and reopened in 2012. However, the complex lacks visitor information.

Jibreen Castle - A well-preserved fort built in 1675 with two towers and rooms with painted ceilings, plus audio tours.

Beautiful country and amazing people - Let's start by saying that overall we had an amazing experience, mainly thanks to three aspects: - Places: we started from Muscat, interesting and cultural city, from which we had an excursion to Dimaniyat islands (amazing experience, we literally swam with sea turtles all around us). Then we moved to visited the Wadi, Wadi Shad and Wadi Bani Khalid, both really impressive and unique. We then drove to the Desert, where we saw a beautiful sunset and experienced the sunrise by air balloon, super - recommended! In the last days we went back to Muscat visiting cities, old villages, castles and forts, all very interesting. We have been very impressed by the variety of views and activities, every day has been different from the one before! - People: everybody in Oman has been welcoming, warm and nice with us. Everyone is ready to help in case of need. It's a beautiful culture to explore - Our driver Khalil: a special thank you to the best guide we could have asked for. A great driver, he has been super open in answering our questions and showing us the local culture and amazing treasures. Recommend! One tip for the agency: sometimes responses to questions took a few days to arrive. That could be a problem in case of emergency (that luckily we didn't have, so everything was fine for us)

Exciting experiences every day - Our guide Khalfan showed us a wonderful country we did not know much about. Every day was filled with new discoveries and exciting experiences. He is very knowledgeable, an excellent driver and went out of his way to give us a memorable Omani experience. This tour shows a good cross section of Oman, its history, nature and people. We recommend it to anyone! Bring respectful clothing and an open mind.

Unforgettable experience - The 4 of us left Italy to spend a week in Oman, booking a 5 day + 1 tour with Sunshine Tours after reading very positive reviews. Unforgettable experience among cities, nature, castles accompanied by Silvia, an Italian guide in love with Oman who passed on to us her love for this land so different from ours but capable of captivating you with all your senses. A journey to discover habits, customs, flavors and scents in an arid and at the same time very green land where water has always had immense value. An evolving land where the works of Sultan Qaboos have brought a breath of modernity, increasing its charm. The organization was perfect on every day of the tour, Silvia was not only a guide but also a friend, always attentive to our needs. We highly recommend this local tour operator

A great way to det to know Oman and its people - Abdul looked after us with great care, drove safely and ensured we had a great time. Meeting so many lovely Omanis was the highlight as was seeing such a wide range of the best sights in Oman. We enjoyed the several short walks Abdul found for us and would encourage you to build these more formally into the tour.

The charm of a different country - Although a friend who visited Oman last year with Sunshine Tour had already given me a glowing report, the trip exceeded my expectations. With my family and a family of friends, we took a tour of the northern part of Oman, starting from Muscat, then heading to Sur and then inland, to Nizwa and into the mountains. The trip was organized by interacting directly via Whatsapp and telephone with Sunshine tour (thanks to Maymona). Very clear and comprehensive communication, so we had no unpleasant surprises. Some highlights: After a day in Muscat, whose best moments were the visit to the Sultan Qaboos Mosque, the visit to the Muttrah Souq and the visit to the construction site of traditional wooden boats, we moved along the coast in the direction of Sur, stopping at a couple of beautiful natural attractions including Wadi Shab, where it is possible to bathe in a stunning panorama after a 45 minute walk. In Sur, in the evening, we visited the turtle beach, witnessing one of these kind mothers laying their eggs. I really appreciated the respect and attention that the marine center staff gives to the animals. Moving towards the hinterland, we visited the Oryx reserve and then the desert: for me, who had never seen something similar, it was an unforgettable experience. Then we moved towards the mountains, visiting a traditional Omani house (beautiful), several palm plantations with ingenious traditional irrigation systems. Oman's grand canyon is worth mentioning, with breathtaking views (not suitable for those suffering from vertigo). The only negative note: the mountain resort should definitely improve the heating in the rooms. Lastly, Nizwa with the livestock market and the Souq, not very touristy and very "real". The country is enchanting, very safe, the population is very friendly and the guides have always been available, friendly and kind. Special thanks to Yahya and Abdullah for guiding us in visiting this beautiful country.

Amazing tour in Oman with a great guide - We had the best time on this tour. Waleed, our guide was amazing (very welcoming, caring, fun, and knowlegeable). We enjoyed ourselves a lot while visiting many interesting places, and doing fun outdoor activities (swiming in the Wadis, turtle walking safari at night, little hikes...). We could also enjoy a great sunset in the desert. We higly recommend this trip.
