Kigali Genocide Memorial - Upon arriving in Kigali, you will be greeted by our guide and driven to your hotel for check-in. After some rest, embark on a 2-3 hour city tour. If you arrive in the morning, you will have the opportunity to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial. After the city tour, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Kisoro - After breakfast, set off on a drive to Kisoro town in Uganda via Musanze and the Cyanika border. After a 3-4 hour drive, you will reach your hotel, check in, and spend the afternoon at leisure, preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - Mgahinga Forest is home to three of the eight Virunga Mountains volcanoes. Visitors can enjoy gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking, bird watching, and hiking along various trails. The park offers a unique chance to experience the region’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. After an early breakfast, report to the park offices by 8:00 AM for a morning briefing about the gorilla trekking. After a 2-3 hour forest walk, you will encounter a gorilla family and spend 1 hour observing these magnificent primates. With the guidance of a knowledgeable ranger, you will learn about the gorillas. After the experience, return to your hotel for rest and an overnight stay.

Golden Monkey Trek and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - After an early breakfast, check out with your bags and return to the Mgahinga forest park office by 8:00 AM for a briefing about tracking the golden monkeys. Join a team of park rangers and embark on a forest walk. Observe the playful and endangered primates in their natural habitat as they move through the bamboo forests, showcasing their distinctive golden fur and lively behavior. After an hour’s experience, exit the forest. After a lunch break, drive to Lake Bunyonyi for 2-3 hours. Arrive at the lake in the evening and enjoy a relaxed evening at the lakeshore, surrounded by an African village setup. Spend the night at the cottages on the lakeshore.

Lake Bunyonyi tour, Batwa community visit, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Lake Bunyonyi - Lake Bunyonyi is a tranquil and picturesque lake surrounded by green hills, perfect for relaxing after your adventures in the primate forests. Enjoy canoeing, swimming, hiking, and soaking in the serene atmosphere. After a relaxed morning breakfast by the lakeshore, embark on a tour around the islands and visit the Batwa people. Interact with this indigenous community, return to your lodge for an early lunch, and then transfer to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving late in the evening in time for sleep.

Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park - Queen Elizabeth NP is home to abundant wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and hippos. The park offers game drives, boat safaris along the Kazinga Channel, and guided walks to spot various animals and birdlife. You can also visit the Ishasha sector to see the famous tree-climbing lions. After breakfast, head for a morning game drive to view the abundant savannah wildlife. Return to your lodge for a lunch break. At 2 PM, embark on a 1-hour boat safari on the Kazinga Channel to view water wildlife like hippos, crocodiles, and other animals drinking and cooling off. In the evening, go for another game drive to spot more wildlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Chimpanzee Tracking at Kalinzu Forest and Transfer to Lake Mburo NP

Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve - Embark on early morning tracking of chimpanzees, white colobus monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys in the forest. A 2-3 hour forest walk will be refreshing and enjoyable in the green rainforest. Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with a lunch break in Mbarara city. Arrive at your lodge and enjoy your evening at leisure.

Lake Mburo National Park - Known for its diverse ecosystems, including savannah, woodland, and wetland habitats, Lake Mburo NP is home to a variety of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, hippos, and crocodiles. Visitors can enjoy game drives, boat safaris, and walking safaris to explore the park’s natural beauty and spot its resident wildlife. Explore the park’s diverse landscapes and wildlife on foot, observing a variety of animals while learning about the park’s ecosystem. This offers a more intimate and immersive experience in the heart of the African wilderness. After the walking safari, transfer back to Kigali to end your primate safari. Drop-off is either at Kigali Airport or a hotel of your choice.
