Highlights
  • Pyramids of Giza - Begin your tour with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by a tour guide. The Giza pyramid complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is located on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. These structures were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. The site also features several cemeteries and the remains of a workers’ village.
  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The Great Pyramid of Giza, also referred to as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops, is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex near present-day Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to remain largely intact.
  • Menkaure Pyramid - The pyramid complex of Menkaure includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - The pyramid complex of Khafre consists of a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple contained several statues of Khafre, some of which were discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860.
  • Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza, often simply called the Sphinx, is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head. Facing directly from west to east, it is situated on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The face of the Sphinx is generally believed to represent the pharaoh Khafre.

Carved from the bedrock, the original shape of the Sphinx has been restored with layers of blocks. It measures 73 meters (240 feet) in length from paw to tail, 20 meters (66 feet) in height from the base to the top of the head, and 19 meters (62 feet) in width at its rear haunches. It is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt and is commonly thought to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of pharaoh Khafre (c. 2558–2532 BC).

  • The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - The Egyptian Museum is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East and houses the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world. The museum’s extensive collection spans from the Predynastic Period to the Greco-Roman Era.

The building’s architect was chosen through an international competition in 1895, the first of its kind, and was won by French architect Marcel Dourgnon. The museum was inaugurated in 1902 by Khedive Abbas Helmy II and has since become a historic landmark in downtown Cairo, home to some of the world’s most magnificent ancient masterpieces.

  • Khan Al-Khalili - Khan el-Khalili is a renowned bazaar and souq located in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt. Established as a trade center during the Mamluk era and named after one of its historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has become a major attraction for both tourists and Egyptians. It is also home to many Egyptian artisans and workshops producing traditional crafts and souvenirs. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Cairo or Giza.

  • Gizeh Plateau - The Giza Plateau (Arabic: هضبة الجيزة) is a limestone plateau in Giza, Egypt, home to the Fourth Dynasty Giza pyramid complex, which includes the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers’ village, and an industrial complex. It forms the northernmost part of the 16,000-hectare Pyramid Fields in the Western Desert edge of the Nile Valley, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Memphis and its Necropolis.

The plateau is elevated approximately 60 meters above sea level.

  • Panoramic view of the Pyramids - Experience the stunning beauty of the iconic pyramids with this breathtaking panoramic view. Capture the grandeur and majesty of these ancient wonders as you immerse yourself in Egypt’s rich history and culture. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a first-time visitor, the panoramic view of the pyramids is sure to leave you in awe. Very accommodating team to make the best of day trip to Cairo - booked via WhatsApp, reluctant to make any payment in advance online so agreed a cash payment after the trip. Met straight at arrivals hall in Cairo, straight to the pyramids with a driver and a guide. They want to make the day about you so although they suggested things like camel ride, various view points and some shopping they didn’t push when we said no. Guide happy to talk us through the history at our pace and show us around. Then went on to the Egyptian museum and again talked us through key items to provide history. All entrance fees included (except to actually enter a pyramid that’s an additional few $), lunch was at a local restaurant with traditional food and drop off back at the airport. We finished quite quickly and asked what else there was to do but struggled a little with additional things to do other than shopping. Very happy with the experience and would recommend to anyone who wants to tailor they own Cairo / Giza experience. Not overly expensive in comparison to others, $160 for 2 adults and a 5 year old.

Best Tour Company of Egypt - EMO Tours - EMO Tours we’re excellent in their service. Our booking agent Zizo and our Tour guide Sameh were both fantastic. Zizo always kept me updated throughout our whole trip and helped me and my family feel comfortable in Egypt. And Sameh our guide was extremely knowledgeable, fun to be around and very considerate guide. He helped us on every tour and made this experience a lot of fun. I would recommend using EMO Tours to see whole of Egypt as they have every tour available in every city in Egypt. And choose Zizo as your booking agent and request Sameh as your guide and you won’t regret it at all. Absolutely the very best!

Private Tour All Day: Giza Pyramids, Saqqara, Memphis and lunch. A paramount experience! - We had a fantastic experience since the very beginning in a private tour with a nice car, great driver and our fantastic guide (and photographer as well), Mohamed Hamed. He lead us to the best spots for photos, explained the history very well and treat us very kindly all the time! It really worth hiring a tour with all inclusive (Transportation, Guide, Tickets, Lunch, etc) because simplify your decisions and you spend your time better.

Tonsi was great - Tonsi was an exceptional guide. Highly knowledgeable and let us go at our own pace. Great to have a guide in the bazaar and really helped us with negotiation of the best price. I totally recommend as going around Cairo for the first time can be intimidating Took us arrounf the Museun so we saw all the important things but then gave us ample time to expose on our own. Many thanks for a great day

Dismissive, uninformative, disappointing guide. Good driver and transfer. - Our driver was professional, courteous, and helpful. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for our guide. His knowledge of most places we visited was equivalent to what you could find on the back of a postcard, but only if you know the exact lineage of pharaohs and time period of each of them. Unfortunately, my knowledge of world events is generally tied to years, which was not helpful in this situation. When we asked probing questions, we generally received dismissive answers. Once at the museum we were asked if “5-10 minutes would be enough” and he was not pleased when we requested an hour and a half. The best part was visiting the local craft (papyrus) and oil shops. I understand that guides generally receive commissions from these stops, but we are traveling for a long period and do not need the extra weight in our bags. We politely partook in the demonstrations but when we did not buy anything, our guide was visibly upset. He did not say a word for approximately an hour after we left these shops. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had on a private guided tour. We booked this one due to the high previous ratings so, I assume, we were just unlucky with our guide selection. Unfortunately, this experience essentially ruined Egypt for us. We would have been better off with no guide and Wikipedia than what we had. If it hadn’t been for the driver, who was great, I would have rated this experience 1/5
