- Dandarah - While the Temple of Hathor at Dendara may not possess the awe-inspiring grandeur of Seti’s structure in Abydos, its remarkable astrological ceiling and well-preserved sanctuaries on the roof provide a rare glimpse into the celestial ceremonies practiced at other worship sites that have not stood the test of time. Dendara also illustrates the manner in which the Greek and Roman sovereigns of Egypt aligned themselves with the ancient pharaohs and gods by emulating their architectural styles, ceremonial practices, and symbolic art, down to the very last hieroglyph. However, they did make minor modifications to the artwork and wall carvings, such as depicting goddesses and queens with more pronounced figures and showing the full set of toes on royal feet, in contrast to the traditional Egyptian representation of only the prominent toe.
