A unique opportunity to reconnect and reunite with your culture, roots, and heritage. You will receive a traditional African name based on the day of the week you were born, enjoy village life activities like clay pottery making, and participate in traditional cultural performances presented by the locals to welcome you into the community.
This experience is exclusively for descendants, serving as a special pilgrimage for healing. Non-descendants must be allies of the Black rights movement (spouse or Black family member participating).
We recommend bringing some cash to purchase beautiful African beads as gifts and to make a donation to support the community’s efforts.
This can be an emotional experience for both locals and visitors, as they see each other as close family and relatives (if slavery had not torn them apart). You will also get to appreciate the beauty of the countryside.
