Very well balanced 1-day Cape Coast tour - We had an excellent tour with Kwame Tours. Daniel, our driver and guide was prompt and transported us safely to/from Cape Coast. The Kakum Canopy Walk was a real fun experience. The the visits to Elmina and Cape Coast Castles were informative and sobering, particularly the latter where we had a brilliant tour by the museum guide. I would recommend Kwame Tours to others, particularly if you enjoy private tours as was in my case.

Well planned trip for a group of 6 - We booked the full day cape coast tour for a group of 6. Three adults and three kids 15,12 and 8. The drive from Accra was long and due to road system we left early our driver was swift and made sure we moved quickly. Our guide was Daniel he was excellent he even had time to entertain an 8-year old that was bored on the road. Kakum park is definitely one that you need prepare to walk have good shoes we were there during rainy season and there was some slipping and sliding. But everyone was safe. The ropes are high but they give you the option not to take the higher courses. Only 2 of our groups did the high ropes. We had an absolute blast. Both Elimina and Cape Coast are heavy experiences to see how the Dutch and the British held humans as currency and bartered them for spices and trivialities like combs. Overall as a black American it was something I needed to see for myself but be prepared for a sobering experience. Kwame tours handled and thought of everything we booked our trip as an all inclusive so they handled food water and everything but you can opt to buy your own meals. They also picked us up from our Accra home so it was true door to door well thought out experience. We ended up later contacting them to book a private tour to Boti Falls, Tete Quarshie’s Cocoa Farm and Cedi Beads.

A day to remember and never forget. - We were picked up by Daniel from our hotel. Our full-day tour of Kakum National Park, Elmina Castle, and Fort Cape Coast was enjoyable. As the canopy is relatively high, Kakum, make sure you are not afraid of heights. If you are afraid of heights and cannot complete the whole experience, you can walk one walkway or all seven. The latter was our choice. Remember to hydrate as it was boiling, wear comfortable walking boots/shoes/trainers and ensure you don't have a heavy backpack like I did. The experience of visiting Elmina Castle and Fort Cape Coast was humbling to know what my ancestors endured. Their enslavers carried out heinous atrocities on them that were difficult to comprehend. The reality of what happened there was not being taken in by some people who were too joyful, smiling, laughing, and taking pictures. However, I would recommend the tour, as there is much to learn and appreciate. It was a full, long day, so ensure you're prepared. I would recommend it!

Cape Coast and Canopy Tour - The tour was fantastic and well worth a visit when coming to Ghana. If you are a person that identifies as BIPOC this is a must do excursion. Kwame was very responsive and set us up with such a wonderful tour guide, Mike. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. He was caring and we felt safe at the entire time. Kakum Forest requires some exercise, but it's manageable. Prepare for a long day, but the tour and the restaurant chosen was fantastic. I can't wait to do it again with my family when we return to Ghana.

Will book again! - The tour guides Daniel and P were very accommodating. The journey from our lodged hotel in Accra to cape coast ended up taking 5+ hours going and returning due to the traffic but Daniel had his spirits high during the entire trip so kudos to him for brining energy to the drive , he was also careful to point out historical places as we drove. P was fabulous as a guide at the Kakum park. My mother cannot walk long distances so we needed to work her into the entire experience so P had to encourage and support her the entire time, even when my mother could not continue she arranged for the Kakum staff to please guide her back to Daniel who was back at the vehicle. There wasn’t much of private teaching at the Kakum forest due to the unavailability of their contact there but the other Kakum staff did a good job guiding. Although the traffic made the travel tedious , the overall experience was positive and will certainly book Kwame tours for another Ghana experience in the futures

A dope day in Cape Coast - The hosts were so accessible and reachable, they catered to our needs, and made us feel safe. In my particular case I needed to return to Accra for a flight to Kumasi. The company arranged for another bus and person to bring us back safely. Will definitely book with them again

Wonderful, life-changing experience. Would definitely recommend! - Our tour guide Ibrahim was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. It was a very powerful experience and would highly recommend for those seeking to better understand the history of slavery and its long-term impact. I was personally taken aback by how intact the castles. We were given full, raw access to the castles and we were accompanied by castle guides who were very knowledgeable and pulled no punches. The canopy walk was also amazing! Scary at first but worth the experience.

Way too many people booked. - We never got to walk the canopy. We got 3/4 of the way to top waiting 1 and half hours. Only to be told it would be another hour and a half before we could walk the canopy. It was already past midday. So we had leave in order to experience Elmina and Cape Coast Castles. There was just way too many people booked. Please refund that portion for our group of ten people.
