Highlights
  • Aburi Botanical Gardens - Visitors can explore the Aburi Botanical Gardens, an eco-friendly destination dedicated to the conservation of plant and animal species, established in 1890. The garden features a variety of botanical plant species from around the globe. Some of these were planted by notable colonial governors and leaders from Africa and beyond, such as Sir Gordon Guggisberg, General Olisengo Obasanjo, H.E Jerry John Rawlings, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles of Britain, and many others. These plants serve multiple purposes, including food, medicinal uses, spices for cooking, and beautification.
  • Tetteh Quashie Cocoa Farm - The Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm, located in Akuapim Mampong, is the first cocoa farm in Ghana, established by Tetteh Quarshie in 1870. Visitors will be guided through the entire cocoa plantation process, from planting to harvesting, and then through the fermentation process that produces raw cocoa beans. These beans are either exported in their raw state or sold to manufacturing companies for processing. Remarkably, two of the original trees planted by Tetteh Quarshie still stand and bear fruit. Ghana is renowned for producing high-quality cocoa and is the second-largest producer in terms of quantity, following Ivory Coast.
  • Adom Waterfalls - Located in Obosomase in the Eastern Region of Ghana, this attraction is also known as the Obosomase Waterfalls. The waterfall cascades over stratified rocks into a clear pool and flows through a forest that was home to indigenous Ghanaian people 400 years ago. The waterfall is divided into two sections: the lower falls and the upper falls. To reach this stunning site, tourists must hike up a hill for about 25 minutes.

Visit Nature Outside of Accra - Driver and guide arrived early with an air conditioned vehicle. The botanical gardens were fabulous, we learned a lot at the first chocolate farm in Ghana and the waterfall was nice but we found the hike to be almost too strenuous given the hot weather and steady incline. We left around 10:30 and returned at 5pm. This tour is good value and a nice way to see some sights in the hills just outside of Accra. Guides at each location were knowledgeable and happy to answer all of your questions.

Value for money - The Cocoa Farm was very interesting and I loved the practical aspect of the tour at the Farm. Another highlight of the tour was the opportunity to meet other garden enthusiasts at the botanical garden and exchanged tips and ideas. The group was small enough that we were able to chat with each other and learn from one another's experiences. this tour is worth the price.

Nature Tour with ProTour Africa - The Aburi Garden tour tour was a truly a delightful experience. As a lover of all things green, I was excited to explore the various gardens in the area, and I was not disappointed. The hike to the waterfall was challenging and not accessible for all ages. Along the way, we passed through a beautiful grove of trees which added to the enjoyment of the tour. The water cascaded down a series of rocks into a small pool, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. It was the perfect spot to take some photos and just Overall, the mini waterfall tour was a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with nature. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and refreshing outdoor experience.

Worth it - Our tour guide was super personable, and she made sure to ask everyone in the group what kind of foods we wanted to try, and which things we did not want to try. I felt like we saw all of the interesting tour destinations in Accra. Definitely worth the trip!

Amazing - It was amazing! I loved how kind and supportive Zainab was, she really took time to answer all of our questions. She also let me use the WiFi as I did not have a ghana sim card, she tailored the trip to our needs and made us feel happy and safe. She is the absolute best! This trip was great I learnt all about the different types of trees in Ghana and even got to see the first helicopter that ever arrived in Ghana! Brilliant! I would recommend for sure! So much history, so much culture!

It was worth it - It was a good experience. I thought I would have seen more herbs and spices. The waterfalls were breathtaking once you get there. Vistors need to know that the trek to get there is longer than expected and then you have 90 stairs to get to big waterfall.
