Highlights
  • Kasbah Agadir Oufella - The Kasbah of Agadir, also known as Agadir Oufella or Agadir Oufla (in Tachelhit: ⴰⴳⴰⴷⵉⵔ ⵓⴼⵍⵍⴰ Agadir Ufella), is a historic fortress situated in the ancient city of Agadir, Morocco. Much of it was damaged during the 1960 earthquake. The fort is perched atop a mountain over 236 meters above sea level, north of Agadir near the current port.
  • Mosquee Mohamed V - Located in the heart of Agadir, close to the beach, this large mosque was inaugurated in September 1969 by King Hassan II. A decade earlier, a devastating earthquake had razed the entire city of Agadir, leaving nothing behind. The area was then redeveloped as a tourist destination, but the surviving residents of the old village needed a mosque. Unfortunately, non-Muslims are not permitted to enter. The interiors are typically stunning, adorned with intricate wall and ceiling decorations, but can only be appreciated from the outside.
  • Souk El Had d’Agadir - Agadir’s municipal market, known as “Souk El Had” in Arabic, is located away from the touristy beach and hotel areas (much to our delight!). There is no historic center in Agadir as the city was completely destroyed by an earthquake in the 1960s and was not rebuilt in the same location. The souk is on the outskirts of the city, about a 30-minute walk from the coast. It’s a vast market where you can find almost anything, including handicrafts from Agadir, the Atlas Mountains, and even the Sahara (spices, clothing, carpets, etc.). It’s a must-visit if you’re ever in Agadir.

Worth to go with them! - It was our first visit to Agadir. We were delighted with this tour. We got a bit of historical facts and the information we asked for. He brought us to very unique shop where we could get traditional items from different part of Marocco. Our tour guide Abdul showed us ruins of the old city, amazing souks and the Argan oil cooperative—an unforgettable experience. Worth to go with them!
