Lots of Bad with the ocasional Positive - I have split this review into 3 parts, Tour Guides, Food, and Good Points. As you will see below, we were not happy with the tour and were sick of being guided to shops for the guides commision rather than focusing on the sites, history, and food. The driver and one of the guides were great however. 1. Tour Guides: Jackie (Day 1): He was not interested in sharing the history it felt like we had to pry this out with our questions. He was more interested in pushing an Elephant Park and Jewellery store, which was not part of the schedule, but clearly, the guide got commision from these spots. Where we are from riding elephants is cruel and bad for the animal. It is not something we would have chosen to do. That is why we simply fed them. We asked not to go to the Gem shop, but Jackie kept pushing for it. The quality was terrible, and the pricing was also for tourists. It was clear that he was not happy that we did not pay for much at either place, which was very un professional. Lastly, he pressured us into doing the trip advisor review in front of him, which is incredibly awkward and once again unprofessional. Mohammed (Day 2): He was really good, he had great knowledge and did not push the alternative activities (shops) too much. I would recommend him to friends and family. Singh (Day 3): Tourguide this day had no plan and asked to see the itinerary from us so that he could make up the route in the spot. He kept asking what we would like to see rather than guiding us. At 2 of the sites, he left us to walk around most of it alone instead of walking with us and giving us further information. When information was delivered, he spoke really fast as if he wanted an early finish. For the entire day, he was pushing both a textile shop and carpet shop for us to go to (once again, as i presume someone gets commission). We repeatedly said no, but he made us feel uncomfortable by pushing this agenda. For food, we suggested Cafe Lota multiple times, which we had researched. Instead, this was pushed back, and we were taken to another tourist lunch (very overpriced this time). The guide also consistently pushed for us to miss parts of the schedule as he likely wabted an early finish. 2. Resteraunts/Food: No food at night was recommended, the hotel food (Agra) was terrible, and it was not situated anywhere near to alternative options for a 9:30 arrival. For lunches on Day 2 and Day 3 we requested that we go to alternative more traditional resteraunts (as the ones suggested were all touristy) we gave a suggeation that was simply 10 minutes away and were told no. I am presuming this is because you get a rebate from these resteraunts. Good Points: The tour ran smoothly, and we got to skip many queues due to the guides' knowledge of the locations. There were some really interesting facts. Especially from Mohammed. Unlike the other two guides, he took his time to deliver the information rather than speaking at a million miles an hour. The driver, Nawal, was excellent. He made us feel comfortable. He went the extra mile (literally) to pick us up on day 1. He was always on time or early for us. He is great to your company!
