Simply excellent - Booked this tour for our final full day in Akureyri, and we were so glad we did. Prompt pick up from our hotel, in a very comfortable mini bus, a nice small group of seven people. Our guide, whose name I can't remember (apologies,) was very welcoming and informative telling us that due to the terrible weather conditions some of our stops may not be possible. What lay ahead for just was an excellent day with breathtaking scenery, the spectacular Godafoss, the imposing Dimmuborgir and plenty of other interesting places. Our guide did get us to all the places, which is pretty incredible as some parts of the day he was driving in almost total white out. Our final stop was a relaxing dip in the Lake Myvatn nature baths, it's an extra cost, but well worth it. This is a great day out, well worth the money. Special shout out to our guide, who was knowledgeable, funny and engaging, and who got us there and back in one piece, no mean feat in, at times dreadful driving conditions.

Wonderful day! - An absolutely wonderful day starting with a prompt pick up from our hotel by lovely Armand who proved to be a fantastic host! Despite the weather being overcast at times, we saw the most stunning, majestic scenery in this beautiful, powerful winter wonderland with well timed stops along the way. Armand was brilliant - he shared with us so much knowledge about the history and geography of Iceland and regaled us with stories of ancient Icelandic lore. Very entertaining, he kept us laughing the whole day! The highlight of the day was swimming in the warm blue waters of the lava pool high in the mountains whlie the snow fell around us. Would highly recommend Imagine Iceland Travel to anyone - thank you for a wonderful experience.

Simply the best - Simply the best. Armand is a fabulous tour guide that made this the perfect family adventure. Filled with incredible scenery, and perfectly timed walks, ending up at the splendid Lake Mývatn and its dreamy bathing pools. Armand shared his wonderful Icelandic tales, deep knowledge of geology and local gossip! Miss this and it’s your loss!!!

Awesome - Booked when I got to Akureyri as I had had problems booking tours as a solo traveller on-line. Tour company Imagine Iceland with guide ‘John’. Picked up at hotel no problem. Visited Godafoss, the Pseudocraters, Grjotagja Cave Fumaroles along with the constant scene of old lava flows which are breathtaking in size, Myvatn Nature Baths, I had my first Nature Bath and found it very invigorating despite the smell of sulphur!! The coldest I got was when walking from the changing room to the pools!! Then onto the Dettifoss Waterfall. The sound and force of the falls was terrific and, again, awesome. I didn’t see Selfoss as, after being to the Dettifoss Waterfall, darkness was descending and the way became less clear. Throughout the tour John was very enthusiastic, knowledgable about the area and history and had a good sense of humour. The environment left me in awe by its beauty and history. It is only by being in amongst it that you get a real ‘feel’ of the place. Cameras etc give memories but don’t really ‘feel’ it. John added some myths/legends as we went along and obviously believes them!? Not sure about trolls/Santa Clauses but good fun. We started at about 9:45 and got back at about 17:30. A long day, a lot of miles covered. The whole trip was worth it and I still haven’t seen “Game of Thrones”!!!!

Good for those who want to get around in a compact area - This tour is centered around Lake Mývatn. We don't go to Dettifoss, which is a little far away. We leave Akureyri around 9am and return around 4pm, so you can rest at the hotel or go to town after returning. Even if I didn't understand 100% of what the guide was saying, I was able to enjoy it just by listening to parts of it. The scenery was also amazing. We took different routes on the way there and back, so we didn't get bored until we got back to Akureyri. There are really a lot of bugs flying around around Lake Mývatn, so it's a good idea to wear a mask. They might get in your mouth if you talk. Our guide had some nets with him, so he lent them to us for our group. We were only able to stay in Godafoss for about 20 minutes, so we wish we could have stayed longer. We went to Kverir afterwards for 50 minutes, so we wish we had spent more time in Godafoss.

Great trip to the beautiful Lake Myvatn - It was a great trip to the beautiful area of Lake Myvatn! We could see fantastic Dimmuborgir lava formations, mesmerising Godafoss waterfall, and interesting hot mudpools area. The guide was very nice and talked a lot about the places we visited. My only regret is that we had only 30 minutes in Dimmuborgir as the place definitely deserves a longer visit, being one of the most iconic places in Iceland.

Wonderful Iceland - We have been to southern Iceland. This was our first time in the nortn. The one big positive is the majesty of the Icelandic landscape. In my opinion, Imagine Iceland is not a very serious company.
