Alajuela - Right after picking up all our guests, we’ll take you on a journey through Alajuela to Poas Volcano National Park. A pleasant drive through small towns, coffee fields, and farms.

Poas Volcano National Park - Once at Poas Volcano National Park, we’ll make our way along a short-distance walking path that leads to the edge of the crater, ideal for travelers of all ages and abilities. We will have time to gaze at stunning views of the surrounding areas and the beautiful crater.

Botos Lake - Poas - The popular Botos Lake trail leads to a stunning lagoon in the dormant Botos crater and is an easy 1.4k, half-hour hike from the main viewpoint. (optional)

Poas Volcano National Park - Sendero Canto Aves (optional)
We will continue south on the “Sendero Canto Aves”, a 1.8k, 45-minute trail through the forest, which gets less traffic than other parts of the park and is ideal for birdwatching.

Hacienda Alsacia Starbucks Coffee Farm - Experience the miraculous journey of coffee at the immersive new Visitor Center. Get a hands-on look at a working tree nursery, wet mill, drying patio, and roaster. See what is being done to empower farmers, promote sustainable practices, and develop the next generation of coffee. Tours are available in English. At this point, you will have the opportunity to buy food, get coffee, access the restrooms, and enjoy amazing views.

Alajuela - After a profound encounter with the forces that shape our planet and the informative and enjoyable experience at the coffee place, we will smoothly head back into the Central Valley.
