Nice Day Trip! - Great day trip to Matera and Alberobello. Vito is an informational, engaging, and fun tour guide with a passion for history. I have no idea if all of his facts were accurate but then, I wasn’t expecting a National Geographic Tour. I’ve always wanted to visit these two UNESCO sites and it’s something that I couldn’t have done on my own. Be aware that at both sites there are lots of stairs and inclines to navigate. Also, there isn’t much, if any, free time to explore and take photos. We did have time for a lunch stop in Matera for a quick bite and drink. Other reviews have mentioned Vito’s driving speed…and truth be told, it was often too fast for my taste but then that’s why I don’t drive in Italy. I’d rather leave that bit to an experienced driver who knows the area and the roads — Vito definitely meets those requirements. Thanks for a nice day, Vito!

Amazing! - Aussie couple here! We loved this tour. Vito was very knowledgeable and knew the area very well. Getting to Matera and Alberobello is a logistical nightmare from Bari without a car so this tour was perfect in being able to see these two places in one day without any hassle. Vito is an excellent driver aswell and would also suggest great eating spots and toilets. The about of time in both locations was perfect! A nice smooth day :) thanks Vito!

Beautiful places to see - Vito came and picked us up in his car and took us to Matera first and then to Alberbello. He has been doing this for a long time and is very knowledgeable. Both locations are amazing and should be seen. You will be walking up and down a lot of stairs in Matera but it is very much worth it. Vito is very personable and fun to be with.

Amazing city - That kind of place you read about, but when you arrive you see it's much more. The city with those cones on the ceilings, the shops, the restaurants and the food. Everything very different is fascinating. The hotel with the cinema roof was the highlight of the trip. I recommend just 1 night at the place, but it will be perfect.

Ok - Nice to see Alberobello and Sassi Matera in one day. However, our guide provided very little info on the sights and what info he did provide wasn’t factual.

Total disappointment - Unfortunately we can't recommend this at all. The postive was that he did get us to both Matera and Alberobello. That's the only positive thing we can say. 8 of us plus the driver/guide packed into a van 3 across including the front bench seat. He refused to run the air conditioning more than a few minutes at a time and when members of our party tried rolling down the windows he would immediately roll them up. The van was a poor quality rental with doors that would not open from the inside. This was just the start. Most of the 'facts' he relayed to us were rubbish. Having studied ancient history at university and because I research quite well any area we are visiting and because these 2 cities were absolute bucket list cities I knew a lot about them already and almost everything he told us was rubbish. Having now read the other 1 star reviews. I can say we had identical experiences. All I can say is look elsewhere. This is a waste of your money.
