Nice touch - Carlos our tour guide was excellent. He was great at providing facts/fun facts about the Algarve region. The tour was the perfect 4 hour choice. The wine tasting was held at one vineyard, which was just enough. Bought a couples of bottles of wine to bring home. Obrigada Carlos!

First Class Experience A++ - Absolutely wonderful day out with Carlos. Extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and engaging. I would definitely recommend this activity if you are visiting. Delicious wines and great company. 😁

Exceptionable trip with Carlos, enjoyed by us all and Marco and Carlos were very informative.and interesting. - Our driver/guide Carlos was exceptional and, nothing was too much trouble, he was very informative and very courteous to all his guests. we all came back much more knowledgeable about the history of the algarve,

There was so much history... - There was so much history to see in the castle. The winery was quaint and the tour was very personal and well done.

I would definitely do it again. - This was terrific. The guide was from Albufeira, and was so helpful and informative. Really great. Just one afternoon, but the vineyard was small and cozy. They served some snacks to go with the wine, and it was really lovely.

Lovely wine tour with Ctia! - A lovely wine tour experience. Our host was Ctia and she was really friendly and knowledgable. My husband and I had a great time and would recommend you do this when you come to Portugal. We started off with a castle visit in Silves then went to the vineyard. Luckily we got on really well with our group so had a great time!

Great wine tasting - Carlos was very knowledgeable and it was a personal experience we will never forget. Castile de Silves was remarkable and the wine was over the top, very friendly. 5-stars

Under whelming. - We had João Carlos as a host. He did his utmost. I will say we have done many wine tours and they all have different points of view. This one wasn’t great. Positives first: guide was lovely and his stories incorporating the algarve folklore helped make the tour more charming. However, We couldn’t hear the guide in the back of the van. Therefore only 2 people really got all the info who were at the front. You only go to 1 vineyard and the wine is local, but not mind blowing. I bought a bottle at the end because it seemed so anti-climatic. The winery didn’t have much to view, some dusty machinery, a field (obviously), some outside seating and a tasting room near the gift shop. The room was authentic, but dark. The nibbles were nothing special: pan tostada crackers, cubes of white bread, olive oil, tinned mackerel, olives and algarve’s special cured ham (best bit). I will say our group was not an engaged crowd . We were 2 who were put in with 3 couples. It’s a lot of time, a long way to go for nothing particularly special. The wine is not traditionally made and there is quite a bit of human/machine intervention including adding sugars and considerable sulfites.

Cost benefit overrated - Citia was fantastic, however, the value of this tour is highly overrated. One wine tasting and a trip to the Silves Castle does not justify the cost. In retrospect I should have driven our car to Silves and searched out wine tasting in that area!
