Highlights
  • Ermita de la Victoria - This is the start and the finish point of this circular route. At the end of the tour the hikers will have the opportunity to visit The Hermitage La Victoria.
The sanctuary is a fortified hermitage that dates back to the 18th century since its architecture gives it a defensive appearance that is a little different from the shape of the rest of the monasteries in Mallorca. Currently, the monastic complex is made up of three floors: The ground floor, where the hermitage is located, and the two upper floors, which currently form a guest house.
  • Alcudia - During the tour we hike on Alcudia Peninsula. From the parking we start the route, descending on a steep footpath to Torrent de s’Aladernar Gorge. 300 metres later we get to a signport indicating to the right La Victoria Youth Hostel. We turn left on a track that follows Torrent de ses Fontanelles, which ascends gently, passes Ses Fontanelles Fondes and eventually gets us to Coll de na Benet. where other signposts indicate direction to Coll Baix and Sa Talaia. We follor the one to Sa Talaia. The hike will take approximately 3 hours
  • Talaia d’Alcúdia - The highest point of this route is Sa Talaia d’Alcúdia Peak.
“Sa Talaia” means watchtower, and the summit’s name has its reason. At 446m above sea level remains the circular base of an old 16th-century tower and, a little further down, two huts where the soldiers took refuge during the Civil War. It was a watchtower that controlled the part of the bay that was not visible from Sa Penya Roja. Very exposed to storms and especially lightning, it was already in poor conditions when the military demolished it in 1918.
