Highlights
  • Fort Qaitbey - Your guide will pick you up from Alexandria Port or your hotel in a private minivan, then you’ll visit Fort Qaitbey. This fort is one of the most significant defensive strongholds, not just in Egypt but along the Mediterranean Sea coast. Built in the 15th century AD, it played a crucial role in Alexandria’s fortification system. Located at the entrance of the eastern harbor on Pharos Island, it stands on the site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which functioned until the Arab conquest.
  • Bibliotheca Alexandrina - Visit Alexandria’s ancient library, once one of the greatest classical institutions. The new Bibliotheca Alexandrina, opened in 2002, is a modern architectural marvel that aims to revive the original center of learning and culture. It has become a major cultural venue in Egypt, hosting numerous international performers and housing several impressive museums.
  • Serapeum of Alexandria - Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, constructed outside the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. It is the only known free-standing column in Roman Egypt, made from a single piece of red Aswan granite. The column stands 26.85 meters high, including its base and capital, and weighs an estimated 285 tons.
  • Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral - Visit Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, the historical seat of the Pope of Alexandria, head of the Coptic Orthodox Church. The cathedral stands on the site of a church founded by St. Mark the Evangelist in AD 60. St. Mark, author of the second Gospel, is believed to have arrived in Alexandria around AD 60 and stayed for about seven years.
  • Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi - Visit the largest mosque in the city, Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque, and see an old funfair where children play on rides.
  • Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - Explore the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, dating from the second century AD. These catacombs are unique for their blend of Egyptian and Greco-Roman elements. Discovered by chance in 1900, the tomb consists of three levels cut into the rock, though the lowest level is filled with subsoil water and sand. A staircase spirals around a large shaft, down which bodies were lowered.
  • Ancient Roman Amphitheater - Visit the Roman Amphitheater in Alexandria, one of the city’s most popular monuments. Amphitheaters were common during the Roman era and can be found in many regions around Europe and the Middle East. This is the only Roman amphitheater in Egypt. The name “Kom El Dekka” means “hill of rubble” or “hill of benches.”
  • Stanley Bridge - See the stunning Stanley Bridge and enjoy views of the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Alexandria National Museum - Visit the Alexandria National Museum, one of the world’s most unique museums. It tells the story of Egypt across different ages, with each showroom painted in colors that represent the era it depicts. For example, black for the Pharaonic periods, light colors for the Graeco-Roman period, and shining green for the Islamic and Coptic periods.
  • Royal Jewelry Museum - Located in Alexandria’s Zizenia neighborhood, the Royal Jewelry Museum is one of Egypt’s largest museums, covering around 4,185 square meters. It houses valuable displays, including jewelry and ornaments worn by the queens and princesses of Egypt’s last royal family.
  • Alexandria - Your guide will then drop you off at Alexandria Port or your hotel.
  • Montazah Gardens - Enjoy the beautiful Montazah Palace and the royal gardens of King Farouk, the last king in Egypt’s history. Walk on the famous Montazah bridge, see the Tea Palace island, and the royal beaches of the queens.

Excellent tour of the Second World War battlefields in North Africa - A well organised half day tour to the El Alamein war memorials. Our tour guide Karim was excellent and was very knowledgeable of the military campaign in Egypt. We visited all three memorials (German, Italian and Commonwealth) as well as the El Alamein Military Museum. Afterwards, Karim took me to a restaurant overlooking Alexandria harbour for a very pleasant lunch. All-in-all a memorable day out.

Excellent tour guides - This is a very good travel tour guide company. I booked through Viator for Giza Pyramid tour from Aexadria. Mirrett contacted me to see what I will do next few days. She helped to book two more tours for the next two days. Tour guide Dina arrived at exact time with a car and driver. We drove 220 km to Giza pyramid. We stopped once for bathroom break. Dina explained step by step history of Egypt going back to pherauns time. She was very knowledgeable has vast knowledge of all ancient archeological sties of Egypt. Next day my tour guide was Medhat (must be related to Mirrett Medhat. He was not only knowledgeable, very friendly as well. He made my tour very pleasant. At the end of the day, we had dinner cruse. The entertainment part of cruise was excellent. 3rd day Dina was my guide again. The driver Hany Milad is also very friendly. He is actually a middle school history teacher and drives tourists as part time. He also drove me to airport at midnight. Dina knew lots about the Alexandria Library, Citadel, museum. She knew history of all the art effects in the museum. I can't get any better guide then her. I wish I could stay longer to see more about Egypt.

An Incredible City Tour with a Wonderful and Friendly Guide - Our guide Wessam really took care of me and my mom during our tour of Alexandria. She was knowledgeable, informative, warm, and friendly! She made the entire experience fun and memorable for us as we saw the catacombs, the Citadel, and the mosque. We especially liked the personal and private aspect of the tour as we were able to absorb all the information Wessam was giving us about each place. There's a current misconception right now that Egypt is not safe to travel, but that's so far from the truth. We felt completely safe the entire time we were with Wessam. We would highly recommend this tour and Wessam as a guide!

A good adventure! - Noha Sameh, my tour guide was very knowledgeable about Alexandria. This kind of tour is unexpected for me. I imagined being with my friends, but since we booked separately, we were with different guides. I was surprised, disappointed and scared to be alone with a guide and driver for my safety. But Noha explained everything and nothing to worry about. The driver, Ahmed was courteous and a very safe driver. I commend this two for making my adventure better than expected.
