Start your adventure by boarding your bus in Alicante towards Santa Pola. Go to your first stop at the Salinas of Santa Pola.
The salt flats get its distinctive pink hue from a type of algae, which thrives in high-salinity environments.
Then, travel to Santa Pola port to catch the boat to Tabarca Island, the only inhabited island in the region. During the 30-minute boat ride, make use of the water-level window to spot fish underwater.
Once on Tabarca, take some free time to explore this Mediterranean Marine Reserve and its fascinating biodiversity. Discover the place that was once home to Barbary pirates and admire the ancient walls that surround it.
Stroll around the small town, relax on the beach, go swimming or eat at one of the restaurants. Later in the afternoon, board the boat back to Santa Pola for the bus ride back to Alicante.
