- Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei - The statue of Christ the Redeemer, existing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, inspired, in 1934, during a visit to that city.\n\nThe monument to Christ the King was also built in fulfillment of a vow formulated by the Portuguese episcopate assembled at Fatima on April 20, 1940, asking God to free Portugal from participating in World War II. Prime Minister Salazar did not want to violate the old friendship with the United Kingdom, which dates from the 14th century, and preferred to remain neutral, and Portugal did not participate in the war.\n\nThe first stone of the monument’s construction was launched on December 18, 1949, after the end of the war. It was inaugurated on May 17, 1959

A tour experience unlike any other! - If you are looking for an unforgettable tour(s) where you can have incredible experiences and get copious amounts of knowledge and stories about Lisbon and the areas around it, call Eagle Travel Tours. We spent 2 days with Jorge (ask for him, you won’t regret it!) who took us to Alentejo, Evora, Sintra and Cascais. These two days were the highlight of our honeymoon and is something we cannot stop talking about with our friends and family. Jorge was a tremendous partner for the 2 days we spent with him giving us numerous stories, facts and personal experiences from in and around Lisbon. Jorge also knew exactly when he needed to allow me and my wife to experience things on our own and was never “in the way” as some tour guides tend to be. It was like we were out with a member of our family who just happened to be incredibly knowledgeable about Portugal and it’s history. Do yourself a favor, cal Eagle Travel Tours and ask for Jorge to show you around, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

Wine tasting in Azeitao, Tour of Arrabida, Setubal and surrounding areas - Our family had a delightful day with Lima on a recent visit to Portugal. He organized a customized tour to include all our interests. We booked a wine tasting in Azeitao which he took us too. Before that, he suggested a visit to a workshop which makes the traditional Azulejo tiles. After the wine tasting and lunch, he gave us a tour of the Arrabida National Park area, the city of Setubal and some amazing beaches along the coast. He was knowledgeable, knew the area well and was very pleased to share his love and passion for his country. He was also courteous and fun to be with. We can highly recommend him and the firm.
