Highlights
  • Amalfi - Once everyone is on board and briefed about the day’s plan, we’ll set off westward towards Positano.

The journey will take us along the Amalfi Coast’s best beaches, past natural rock arches, and into sea caves, allowing us to admire the old watchtowers scattered along the coast.

We’ll stop at beaches accessible only by sea, with time for snorkeling or swimming in crystal-clear waters and exploring grottoes.

Shortly after leaving Amalfi’s center, we’ll approach the Saint Andrew Grotto, a large natural sea cave filled with stalactites, named after Amalfi’s patron saint, Andrea.

After passing Duoglio and Santa Croce beaches, we’ll visit the “Arc of Lovers,” a natural rock arch shaped like two kissing elephants, formed millions of years ago by sea erosion. Young couples used to marry atop it not too long ago.

We’ll then cruise past the ancient fishing village of Conca dei Marini, near Sophia Loren’s villa, and see the historic hotel “Il Saraceno” on La Vite Beach.

  • Conca dei Marini - Once an ancient fishing village, Conca dei Marini offers stunning views of the villages of Furore and Praiano, as well as the islands of Li Galli and Capri, and the famous Faraglioni Rocks. Further into this basin, we’ll find the small Runghetiello Grotto and its tiny beach, where we’ll anchor for a break to swim or snorkel.
  • Fiordo di Furore - After leaving Conca dei Marini, we’ll reach the famous Furore Fjord, Italy’s only natural fjord and the site of the international diving competition “MarMeeting.” Every July, professional divers from around the world compete by jumping from the 28-meter-high bridge.
  • Praiano - Continuing to the village of Praiano, we’ll get a close look at the larger Africana Grotto, where the water has a distinctive blue color due to unique light refraction.
  • Positano - Finally, we’ll round Capo Sottile and cruise to Positano, where we’ll take another break for snorkeling at the secluded La Porta beach, accessible only by sea and thus uncrowded.

The return trip to Amalfi will offer a different but equally stunning view of both sea and land.

Additional Information

You will never see the Amalfi Coast like this! You will discover the Amalfi Coast’s hidden delights and breathtaking views from a typical Amalfitan Gozzo boat, thanks to the comprehensive experience and knowledge of local captains and in a very small group (max 10 participants)!

The route to Positano will take us along Amalfi’s finest beaches as well as close to natural rock arches and into sea caves, giving us the opportunity to admire the old watch towers that dot the entire length of this coast.

We will pause at beaches reachable only by sea and have time to go snorkeling or swimming in crystal-clear waters and into grottos (snorkeling equipment provided by us).

Our boats are 8 to 10 meters (26.2 to 32.8 feet) Amalfi Coast “Gozzo”, a very evocative and spacious type of boat original of this area and used by locals since ancient times.

All boats have a little bathroom that can be used in case of necessity during the breaks.

Loved every minute sailing Amalfi - Amazing trip from Amalfi to Positano on the coolest boat!!! Loved every minute of it even though April is a little chilly we still went in the water! The captains were great at explaining the history of the coast along the way but not to be too overbearing and shared drinks with us. Very cool experience!

Wonderful afternoon on the water - My friend and I had such a wonderful afternoon on the trip. Swimming in the gorgeous water and taking in the stunning scenery of the Amalfi Coast. Really appreciated the music that matched the moments on the boat and also the limoncello and the genuine friendliness of our captain.

Water Tour of the Amalfi Coast is not to be Missed - We were unsure about this tour. We were not really interested in snorkeling. But, once on board the Captain put us a ease. The water tour of the Amalfi Coast is not to be missed. We slowly cruised along the coast as the Captain pointed out special features. We stopped in a very calm area and were able to swim. Cruising on we went all the way to Positano where we stopped again for a swim. By this time the girls had enough sparking wine that they jumped in. It was a little rough on the way back but, the Captain stayed close to the coast and kept the speed down. Great Adventure!
