A great way to see The Netherlands outside of busy Amsterdam - First of all, this is an E-Bike tour. The headline says ebike, but the pictures on the site and mentions in the text led me to believe it wasn't e-bikes. We were very pleased with the new e-bikes that we were provided. Our tour guide, Rinse, gave us an amazing tour away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. If there is one tour you should do on your visit to Amsterdam, it is this e-bike tour of the countryside. You won't regret it.

Amsterdam bike tour - I highly recommend the A-Bike city centre tour! We were led through a wonderful range of districts of central Amsterdam in what was a fun, informative and interesting tour. It is the way to see Amsterdam! Gus, our guide, started with some advice on Amsterdam cycling, the bikes, and safety, and then he kept all fifteen of us riding confidently, breaking periodically to share history, local information and to allow those caught by traffic lights to rejoin the group. This was two and a half hours of pleasure in a great cycle-friendly city!

Highlight of our trip - This was so much fun and although I was apprehensive about the city part of the tour, Antoine gave us so much information and kept a keen eye out for us that I relaxed right away. The tour of the countryside, the history that Antoine shared, the windmill and the cheese and clog factory were all fantastic and I’d do it again! Thank you Joy Ride tours.

highlight of trip - This bike tour was one of the highlights of our 4 days in Amsterdam. Antoine was very knowledgeable and friendly. The bikes were so comfortable we joked they were like riding on recliners. Beautiful day in a beautiful city. Thanks Antoine!

Great bike ride into the countryside! - A great day of riding that included learning how to navigate the bike rules of the road in Amsterdam as we rode thru the streets to parks, forests, riversides, a farm and a windmill in our tour. Along the way our exceptionally charismatic group leader provided a wealth of information on Amsterdam & Holland history, social norms, and characteristics. Very relaxing pace, comfortable and easy to ride bikes, very nice people,... I highly recommend this small company!

Relaxing and insightful day - We had a beautiful day riding from Vondel park, through the outskirts of Amsterdam and out to the countryside. Antoine was an amazing tour guide and despite a little rain kept the group in good spirits. We had been on a couple tours within the city at that point but despite this the stories told were unique and thoroughly interesting. Joy Ride Tours are a small operation and the level of communication and service throughout was amazing. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

Excellent Day even when it Rains! - Day 2 in Amsterdam and we had the pleasure of being guided by Antoine on a bike tour, out of the city and into the Dutch countryside. We joined a small group (in total 5), meeting at the museumplein. It was a short walk to collect the bikes, and then it was time to feel like a local, mount your bike and head through Vondel Park. Although there was drizzle, riding through the park, forest and country laneways, provided shelter from the rain. When it decided to pour down a bit more, poncho's were part of the bike kit. There were plenty of opportunities for photo's and info stops along the way. Antoine was knowledgeable and interesting. Each area we cycled through had a point of difference. Vondel Park is quite large, and cycling is a great way to cover the area. Keep your eye out for the Picasso at the park. Next stop was the houseboat village. An interesting and sustainable way to live. This is an area we would not have been exposed to had we not completed the bike tour. The diversity of housing in The Netherlands is a story in itself. We continued on, pedalling through wildflower meadows in the forest, onto the Rowing Centre, country cycle ways and lanes, viewing polders, canals and dykes. There was even a visit to a farm for a demonstration of clog making, and sighting equipment for cheese making with the customary gift shop exit. Although Strava recorded a ride of 19.8km; it was leisurely, flat and easy to ride. We were back at the bike return by 3.30pm, which gave us sufficient time to enjoy our pre-booked tickets to the Van Gogh at 4pm (latest entry 4.30PM). There were several toilet stops along the way, however, we recommend you arrive with snacks and water; as there was no where on the ride to purchase them. The return ride was scenic along the Amstel River, stopping for a photo stop at a windmill from the 1600's and back through Beatrix Park. Our bike tour, gave us a real sense of getting back to nature and a simpler life, away from the city. We thoroughly recommend.
